Safety and Sanitation Follow established fire safety policies and procedures. Follow established safety precautions when performing tasks and when using equipment and supplies. Wear and/or use safety equipment and supplies (e.g., back brace, mechanical lifts, etc.) when lifting or moving heavy objects. Ensure that assigned work areas are maintained in a clean, safe, and sanitary manner. Keep work/assignment areas free of hazardous objects, unnecessary equipment, supplies, etc. Follow established policies governing the use of labels and MSDSs. Equipment and Supply Functions Keep supervisor informed of supply needs. Report all equipment malfunctions or breakdowns to your supervisor as soon as practical. Ensure that equipment is cleaned and properly stored at the end of the shift. Transportation Services Responsible for providing specialized wheelchair transportation, non-emergency ambulance assistance, and client assistance including responsible for proper loading, securing, and transfer of wheelchair-bound and ambulatory clients. Insures clients, passengers, and wheelchairs are properly secured in the vehicle at all times. Responsible for obtaining accurate directions to facilities and client locations. Will be knowledgeable of outpatient scheduling procedures, the transportation schedule and will communicate frequently throughout day with transportation coordinator. Employee will use radios and telephones to communicate with transportation/scheduling coordinator. Insure pick up times and appointment times meet established standards Communicate effectively and appropriately with management, physicians, and nursing staff regarding transportation rules and regulations Responsible for completing the daily and monthly vehicle checklists, reports results and recommends replacement or repair of vehicle safety equipment, and informs the program supervisor. Budget and Planning Functions Report suspected or known incidence of fraud relative to false billings, cost reports, kickbacks, etc. Resident Rights Maintain the confidentiality of all resident care information including protected health information. Report known or suspected incidents of unauthorized disclosure of such information. Knock before entering a resident's room. Honor the residents' personal and property rights. Report complaints of missing property to your supervisor. Miscellaneous Turn in all found articles to your supervisor. Working Conditions Works in all areas of the facility.
