Position Description
Measuring and finishing grade stakes, pipe laying, drive stakes, and stretched tight line. Knowledge of using power tools: bolts, nails, aligns, and bock up under forms. Signals operators of construction asphalt equipment to facilitate alignment, movement, and adjustment of machinery to conform to grade specifications. Mixes concrete and apply caulk, as needed. Spread/level dirt, gravel/stone to rough and fine grade/elevation.
Sawing lumber, dismantling forms, removing projections from concrete, and mounting pipe hangers. Efficient at multi-tasking and working under short time constraints. Assure that all safety and quality measures are taken. Coordinate with others including subcontractors, trucking, and plant managers. Hands-on - efficiently operate heavy equipment that applies to grading. Supervise and train crew members. Perform other duties as assigned.
Position Requirements
2+ years recent experience working as a grade laborer. 2+ years of proven grading experience. Ability to work in outside weather conditions. Valid driver's license and a clean driving record. Strong commitment to quality, safety, and customer satisfaction. Must have a safety-first attitude first. Strict adherence to safety requirements and procedures is required. Display a professional and courteous attitude to co-workers, supervisors, and the general public at all times. Must be willing to travel and work away from home when required. Must be willing to work nights and weekends when necessary. OSHA safety and environmental regulation compliance. Must be able to work outdoors in all types of weather conditions.

ABOUT THE JOB
As a BLAST CREW LABORER:
- This position involves being outside in all weather conditions, loading and unloading and lifting 50+ pounds of product and other materials, and frequently squatting and bending.
- You will work collaboratively as a team member and perform manual labor for the duration of the shift.
- You will assist the site supervisors with the materials and equipment needs and help to collect supplies as requested. To do this, you will use material handling equipment including shovels, hand tools, power tools and work around heavy construction equipment.
- You will maintain a clean, safe working environment and report any employee, customer or safety concerns to the Blaster in Charge or Location Manager.
ALL YOU NEED FOR THE BLAST CREW LABORER IS
- Ability to work outside in all weather conditions
- Physical ability to load and unload and lift 50+ lbs. on a regular basis
- Strong team-working skills
- Ability to perform basic math functions (add, subtract, multiply and divide) in order to count inventory, verify how many detonators and boosters have been utilized (pre- and post-shot), and calculating how many boxes of detonators and boosters are needed to load the shot.
- Ability to read and interpret documents such as SDS, product information, maintenance instructions and procedure manuals. Also, must be able to learn to identify products by classification through visible inspection.
- Ability to work nontraditional hours generally starting very early.
- Must meet requirements of all State and Federal explosive laws and qualify as an ATF explosive possessor
- Access to reliable transportation
