Position Summary We are currently seeking an experienced CMM Programmer to join our 1st Shift Quality team. This individual will be responsible for programming and operating coordinate measuring machines (CMMs) to inspect complex aerospace components, ensuring compliance with tight tolerance requirements and industry standards. The ideal candidate will have deep experience with PC-DMIS software and a strong understanding of Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing (GD&T), with the ability to program from both engineering models and 2D prints. Key Responsibilities Develop and edit CMM programs using PC-DMIS for 3-, 4-, 5-axis and 7-axis machined aerospace components. Interpret engineering drawings, CAD models, and technical documentation to define inspection strategies. Identify and utilize appropriate fixturing, tooling, and setups to ensure repeatable and accurate measurements. Write clear work instructions and in-process inspection sheets to guide CMM setup and operations. Collaborate with Quality, Engineering, and Manufacturing teams to resolve dimensional issues and improve inspection processes. Perform first article, in-process, and final inspections to validate component compliance with AS9100 and customer specifications. Support continuous improvement initiatives in the inspection and manufacturing areas. Maintain inspection records and ensure traceability for all inspection processes. Required Qualifications Minimum of 5 years of recent experience programming CMMs using PC-DMIS. Proven ability to read and interpret detailed aerospace blueprints and apply GD&T principles. Proficient in programming from both CAD models and 2D drawings. Experience with inspection of complex machined aerospace parts. Familiarity with 3-, 4-, and 5-axis milling operations. Strong attention to detail, with the ability to identify and troubleshoot dimensional issues. Excellent organizational and communication skills. Preferred Qualifications Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Manufacturing, or related technical field. At least 5 years of experience in precision machining or aerospace manufacturing. 3+ years of experience inspecting parts to aerospace specifications and standards. Input routing data into the database; input is necessary to calculate times necessary to complete procedures and to explain in detail the procedures involved in each manufacturing operation. Proficient with GD&T, Technical drawing, SiemensNX, MasterCam or equivalent Use cad (CadKey- AutoCad) software to sketch blueprints for vendors, develop fixtures and processes. Qualifications: Bachelor's degree from four- year college or university or equivalent experience Broad knowledge of machine tools and their capabilities for the purpose of properly routing precision components. Experience with programming CNC machines, production and tool room work a PLUS. Ability to read, analyze, and interpret manufacturing drawings, technical journals, financial reports, and legal documents. Respond to inquiries or complaints from employees, regulatory agencies, or members of the business community.
