DRW is a principal trading firm that is driven by technology. The diversity of the asset classes and instruments that the company trades across is what separates it from the competition. By combining risk management, research, and technology, DRW is capable of creating optimal trading and investment strategies within the regulatory framework.
The company has been headquartered in Chicago, Illinois since it was founded in 1992. The headquarters are located in the West Loop just a short walk away from "Restaurant Row." Today it is still the largest office, but it's not the only office anymore. Three years after being founded, the London office opened. DRW Austin opened in 2001 in the heart of downtown on Sixth Street. Then in 2003, DRW expanded to New York. Now the company is located all over the world, including Montreal, Singapore, Houston, Greenwich, Amsterdam, and Tel Aviv.

The team at DRW holds themselves to the highest of standards, and that's clear in part to the core values that they live and breathe. The values are the backbone of every decision at DRW and the driving factor behind every idea. These values are:
"Like large tech firms, DRW offers really ambitious challenges," said Senior Software Engineer Jason Miller. "It's one of the rare places where virtually every aspect of math and computer science has a practical application. We work with huge volumes of data and have the resources we need to get things done."
Out of the Box Thinking
The company's approach to culture is built on tenured employees who have experience. DRW believes that ideas, execution, and results take precedence over titles. By creating opportunities, the team is able to take on complex problems while focusing on interesting projects. While a focus is placed on performance and getting results, that doesn't take precedence over building strong bonds with colleagues.
"Our team acknowledges individual success and provides an environment to further new ideas. The team then ensures higher management is aware of your contribution," said Kumbi, Network Engineer. "These accomplishments become part of the individual's and team's record at the end of the year. This approach I believe has led to a lot of innovations on my team."
The team at DRW is comprised of smart, motivated people who come from different backgrounds whether it's tech companies, finance or academia. The company is committed to hiring people who make themselves readily available to colleagues, challenge their own assumptions and are always doing the right thing.
"We're free to choose the technology stack that best solves each individual problem, so the learning happens project to project," said Carissa, Software Engineer. "I started programming in C#, but changing teams exposed me to a new suite of languages that I'm now working in regularly."
At DRW, they believe education is the most important step toward achieving self-reliance. That's why a big part of it's giving back culture is directed toward learning. That's not to say that the company doesn't support organizations that focus on housing and training opportunities, because it does that too. But one of its primary initiatives is DRW College Prep. With DRW Trading Group Foundation funding, the high school opened its doors in 2012. The school is part of the Noble Network of Charter Schools.
Another initiative the company supports comes without fail every December. All of the DRW offices around the world compete against each other in the holiday giving challenge. The challenge ranks offices based on how much was donated to charity and how many employees participated. "'Tis the season for giving, and I think our holiday giving challenge is the perfect expression of that spirit," said Jackie Easey, Global Community Relations Lead. "It gives us a chance to give back to worthy causes while working together in teams, each from a different DRW office. We put a lot of thought into selecting organizations that align well with our foundation's commitment to education and that we believe we can impact in a meaningful way."
DRW wants to ensure that you and your family are well taken care of, and that's evident based on the long list of benefits that are included in the benefits package. With you being taken care of, you can focus on your passions. Without further ado, the list of benefits include:
It's nice to work for a company that cares for you and your wellbeing. But it's equally nice to work for a company that fosters a culture of giving back and learning. At DRW, you get both.
