As an AI Researcher, you will be an integral member of a team of experienced technologists, researchers, quants and traders. You will collaborate closely with two other researchers to solve challenging AI and machine learning problems. Your projects will vary depending on priorities at the start of your employment and could include AI for time series modeling or developing large language models (LLMs). Key Responsibilities:
Algorithm Development: Creating and testing new AI models and algorithms to solve specific problems or improve existing methods.
Data Engineering: Building data pipelines for model training and evaluation, including data collection, cleaning, preprocessing, and labeling, while contributing to better data management practices.
Model Testing & Evaluation: Designing and implementing rigorous testing frameworks to assess model performance and identify areas for improvement.
Collaboration: Working closely with team members to establish and refine research methodologies, promoting peer reviews, testing, and thorough documentation.
Research & Learning: Staying updated on the latest AI techniques and advancements, sharing insights, and actively bringing improvements to research processes.
Required Skills and Qualifications:
PhD in artificial intelligence, machine learning, computer science, or a related field graduating between December 2024 and June 2025.
Strong foundation in AI concepts.
Strong knowledge of machine learning.
Solid technical and programming skills (Python, Java, GitHub).
Familiarity with machine learning framework (Spark, PyTorch, etc.).
Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills.
Deep interest in financial markets.

As the Deputy AML Officer, you'll assist our AML Compliance Officer manage the firm's AML/CTF and sanction screening program applicable to our crypto trading entities. Our environment is dynamic and fast-paced, and we are looking for someone who is energized by our innovative culture.
What you'll do in this role:
Support Program Management
Assist in the development, implementation, and maintenance of AML policies, procedures, and controls.
Contribute to the development and management of compliance processes.
Support the AML Officer in updating relevant policies and procedures in response to regulatory changes.
Contribute to the development of risk assessments and risk mitigation strategies.
Policy Execution
Oversee the execution of policies and procedures designed to detect suspicious activity, including policies and procedures deployed in connection with KYC and transaction monitoring procedures.
Assist in the investigation of suspicious activity reports (SARs).
Support escalations, investigations and EDD triggered in connection with the execution of KYC, sanction screening and transaction monitoring procedures.
QA/QC
Develop and implement a quality control/quality assurance program in the areas of KYC, transaction monitoring, SAR filing and sanction screening; develop a reporting framework to track material findings; undertake any actions required to address identified gaps in execution.
Team Training and Guidance
Provide guidance to AML analysts and other team members.
Assist in training and developing the AML team to enhance their skills and knowledge.
Assist in conducting new employee training
Assist in reviewing questions or observations raised by the business and trading desks with respect to counterparty activity or existing policies and procedures.
Audit
Assist the AML Officer in supporting independent and regulatory audit requests and executing remediation strategies.
What we're looking for:
At least 7 - 10 years of AML/CTF and sanctions experience, including experience in a senior-level or supervisory AML role such as AML Manager or Deputy AML Officer
At least three years of experience in the virtual currency industry
Proficient understanding of AML industry standards globally with respect to the virtual currency space
Proficient understanding of the AML regulatory framework in the U.S.

ABOUT THIS ROLE
This role will report to the Associate General Counsel and will generally support the PEAK6 legal team, HR department, and leadership as needed. The Counsel - Labor & Employment will provide legal advice and operational support on all issues related to labor and employment at PEAK6 Investments and its subsidiaries. This role will counsel on day-to-day labor and employment matters, including, but not limited to, federal and state compliance, employee relations (hiring, firing, performance, compensation, etc.), wage & hour, harassment and discrimination investigations, restrictive covenants, independent contractor agreements, handbook policies, and leaves of absence/disability accommodations. This role will also assist with management of outside counsel involving any labor & employment matters, including litigation.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES AND ACTIVITIES
Research and provide advice on employment law issues, including hiring, compensation, discipline, terminations, pay and benefits.
Counsel HR and leaders on employee relations matters, including coaching, discipline, accommodation requests, and benefits issues.
Draft and revise employee agreements, offer letters, and related employee correspondence.
Assist with investigations into alleged employee misconduct.
Review and provide input on policies and protocols involving employment laws such as the FMLA, ADA, FLSA, OSHA, ERISA, and Title VII.
Assist Legal group and outside counsel with all aspects of responding to and managing administrative claims/charges, demand letters, and litigation.
Occasionally assist PEAK6 legal team as needed, including matters outside of labor and employment law.

REQUIREMENTS
Bachelor's degree from a four-year college or university and J.D. from an accredited law school.
Licensed to practice law.
3-4 years' experience with labor and employment law in a law firm or in-house setting.
High competency with communicating legal advice verbally and in writing.

What We're Looking For

The Role
The Quantitative Trading Associate (QTA) role is our entry-level position within our Trading and Quant organization and gives you broad exposure to the whole business before you move into a more specialized role as a Trader, Quant Trader, Quant Developer, or Quant Researcher.

About the Quantitative Research Internship:

The quant research internship is an intensive 10-week program focused on enhancing your quantitative and programming skills, as well as helping you experience what it's like to be a full-time quant researcher at Jump.
At Jump our people contribute to trading teams in the following roles, or a blend of all three: quantitative researcher, algorithmic trader, and software developer - so our internship program is designed to train you in a variety of areas. Topics include machine learning, trading / market mechanics, C++, statistics, and especially our research process for signal generation.
Applying lessons from training, you will first work with fellow interns to develop your own predictive models and automated trading strategies for live trading.
Then you'll have the opportunity to work with two of our trading teams for three weeks each. During each rotation you'll work on a project for the trading team while being mentored by experienced quant researchers, traders, and developers.
