During the Summer Bridge (SB), Peer Mentors are responsible for assisting pre-first year students with their academic, social, and personal transition into the college environment. Summer Bridge is the transition from high school to college life with the focus on STEM. Peer Mentors support this transition through their specific roles outlined below. Peer Mentor Role and Responsibilities In order to facilitate the best experience for the pre-first year students during the SB, Peer Mentors will: Live in the residence hall along with the pre-first year students in order to help them make a successful transition to residential life. Peer Mentors will: Educate students and enforce all residence hall policies and procedures. Educate students and enforce policies related to drug and alcohol use, as well as Ithaca community standards. Prepare residence hall for student arrival and complete check-in assignments as required. Be on overnight on-call status as assigned.
