The Polisher I is responsible for: Essential Functions Polisher I is responsible for the performance of the following essential functions required for the finishing of medical grade knee and hip implants and surgical instrument sets in accordance with documented procedures and using the proper Personal Protective Equipment (PPE): Deburring: Wearing proper PPE. Grinding, Belting, filing, and other hand tools to remove burrs from edges of parts and establish our finish as required. Polishing: Wearing proper PPE fully gowned and wearing a full hood. Buffing parts on a grinder using vegetable based polishing compound, cotton buffing wheels, and sisal buffing wheels. General knowledge of quality policy, especially as it relates to product manufacturing, finishing and recordkeeping.-Knowledge of personal safety requirements. Ability to finish and polish product with minimal supervision with input from supervisor. Ability to finish some product independently. Ability to see defects .001 - .002 in size on polished parts.
