    The Dublin San Ramon Services District is recruiting for a regular, full-time Water/Wastewater Systems Supervisor in the Field Operations Division of the Operations Department. Under direction, organizes and provides direction and oversight for a section of a comprehensive operations, maintenance, and repair program for potable water and recycled water facilities or for sewer collection systems; provides direct and general supervision to assigned staff; ensures that division operations and maintenance functions meet applicable laws, regulations, and District policies; performs special project work related to capital improvements and private development; and performs related duties, as assigned. IDEAL CANDIDATE STATEMENT The ideal candidate is a proven leader with strong technical expertise in the operation, maintenance, and repair of water distribution, wastewater collection, and recycled water systems. They bring a balanced skill set that includes hands-on field experience and administrative capabilities, ensuring safe, efficient, and compliant service delivery across the division. This candidate leads and motivates staff by managing daily operations, providing training, and supporting professional growth. They have experience in preventative maintenance and emergency response, and they use resources effectively by planning projects, assigning staff and equipment, and maintaining compliance with safety and regulatory standards. They communicate clearly through written reports and positive engagement with coworkers, contractors, and the public. They demonstrate sound judgment in both routine and urgent situations, making confident decisions and promoting teamwork and continuous improvement across the District and the community. The ideal candidate will also have: * At least five (5) years of hands-on experience working with water distribution and/or wastewater collection systems * At least two (2) years of experience supervising or leading staff in field operations * Strong understanding of leadership practices, with experience coaching, mentoring, and training team members * Experience with underground construction and repairs related to water and wastewater systems * Project management experience is a plus SUPERVISION RECEIVED AND EXERCISED Receives direction from the assigned supervisor. CERTIFICATES, LICENSES, REGISTRATIONS Possession of a Class C Driver's License required by the State of California, Department of Motor Vehicles, to perform the duties of the position. Continued maintenance of said driver's license in compliance with established District vehicle operation standards, and the ability to be insured for the operation of a vehicle/District vehicle in accordance with the terms and conditions of the District's insurance program are conditions of continuing employment. The CSRMA driving standards are included herein by reference. Possession and maintenance of a California State Water Resources Control Board (SWRCB) Water Distribution Operator Grade D5 certification is required upon appointment. Possession and maintenance of a California SWRCB Water Treatment Operator T2 certification is required upon appointment. Possession and maintenance of a California Water Environment Association (CWEA) Wastewater Collection System Maintenance Grade II certification is required upon appointment, and possession and maintenance of a CWEA Wastewater Collection System Maintenance Grade III certification is required within one (1) year of appointment. ADDITIONAL REQUIREMENTS Incumbents in this class are required to participate in the District's Shave-on-Demand policy when required to wear respiratory protection or other safety equipment. DISASTER SERVICE WORKER All Dublin San Ramon Services District employees are, by State and Federal law, Disaster Service Workers. The roles and responsibilities for Disaster Service Workers are authorized by the California Emergency Services Act and are defined in the California Labor Code. In the event of a declaration of emergency, any employee of the District may be assigned to perform activities which promote the protection of public health and safety or the preservation of lives and property. Such assignments may require service at locations, times, and under conditions that are significantly different than the normal work assignments and may continue into the recovery phase of the emergency. If a "Local Emergency" is declared during the employee's shift, employees will be expected to remain at work to respond to the emergency needs of the community. If a "Local Emergency" is declared outside of the employee's shift, employees must make every effort to contact their direct supervisor or department head to obtain reporting instructions as Disaster Service Workers.
