Dublin Construction company history timeline

1945

Dublin Construction Company was founded by BH Hall, Sr. in 1945.

1947

1947 The first high school football team organized.

1953

1953 Washington Township was the first in Franklin County to establish its own zoning.

1956

1956 New ambulance purchased.

1959

1959 The first bank opened in Dublin.

1960

1960 Dublin celebrates its sesquicentennial (150 years). The official date is June 10th but the village celebrated for a week with The Scioto Heritage pageant.

In some years around 1960, nearly half the student body was coming from outside Ireland (north and south). The overall student population remained small until the mid-1960s, when the cap was raised by a third to 4,000.

1961

1961 Indian Run Elementary opened for grades 1-4.

1962

1962 First Kiwanis Frog Jump.

1965

1965 First Comprehensive Development Plan adopted.

1967

1967 Dublin’s first bank robbery.

1971

1971 The West outer belt, I-270, was opened between I-71 North and I-70 West.

1973

1973 Dublin High School (today known as Dublin Coffman High School) opened.

1975

1975 Dublin Chamber of Commerce established with 17 members.

1977

1977 Dublin Chamber of Commerce held first major fundraiser, the Harvest Ball at Riviera Country Club.

1979

1979 Village Council adopts a Charter and a council/manager form of government.

1984

1984 City Council establishes the Dublin Arts Council.

1986

1986 Route 33/161 bridge over the Scioto River reopened after widening; 5,000 residents attended the celebration.

1993

In 1993 the College also began to boost recruitment from within Dublin city by developing a series of access programmes (TAP). The aim was to raise the number of young adults from socio-economic and ethnic groups underrepresented in higher education coming to university.

2004

In 2004 the City of Dublin wrote a history of the village and city, “Dublin’s Journey”. The book tells many of the characteristics that contribute to the character of our community including landscaping regulations put in place when the village was in a forming state of development.

2017

In January 2017 an interdisciplinary project, 'Making Victorian Dublin', was initiated by Trinity’s Department of History of Art and Architecture and Department of Geology, focusing on the materials and craftsmanship of the University’s Museum Building.
