Job Summary Create and lead continuous improvement projects utilizing lean and six sigma tools. Lead cross functional teams to support RCCA activities on CARs and DMRs. Lead the development of manufacturing processes, procedures, and tooling for new products. Lead the implementation efforts for new manufacturing equipment. Design manufacturing processes, work instructions and production layouts for assemblies, equipment installation, and material handling. Train production personnel on the proper use and execution of tools, processes, and procedures. Support production operations and personnel on technical issues. Estimate labor hours for new and existing products. Create and update routing information (cycle times, notes, etc.). Communicate with customers, vendors, and suppliers on projects on technical issues as required. Design, test, and validate tooling and fixtures. Create data collection plans to parts and processes when necessary to understand process behavior. Required Skills and Qualifications Working understanding of 6-Sigma and Lean Manufacturing concepts. Experience leading cross functional teams on projects. Professional knowledge of manufacturing and assembly processes together with work measurement and work standards. Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings. Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from managers, clients and customers. Ability to interpret an extensive variety of technical instructions in mathematical or diagram form and deal with several abstract and concrete variables. Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions. CAD/CAM software experience (Solidworks, Mastercam, etc.). Working knowledge at an intermediate level of computer skills in e-mail, Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Visio. Ability to work independently, with a higher level of judgement making skills. Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
