What you'll be challenged to do:
During your internship, you will work on a highly functioning team and aid in providing design services for a wide variety of projects. You'll receive guidance, supervision and mentorship by experienced engineers and professionals with your success as the goal. The majority of our interns convert to full-time employees.
In this capacity, the successful candidate will be responsible for the following:
Support real client projects by assisting in developing substation layout drawings, including plan and elevations, yard layouts, grounding details, and raceway designs for new and existing substations.
Support the development of substation one-lines, auxiliary AC/DC power systems, and DC schematics.
Aid in performing basic engineering calculations and preparing reports.
Contribute to wind power calculations and assist in collection station design.
Assist in preparing equipment specifications for substation components and construction.
What you'll bring to our firm:
Enrolled in an ABET-accredited undergraduate or graduate degree program in Electrical Engineering.
Demonstrated interest in high voltage power engineering, substation design or renewable energy through prior internships, work experiences, or applied academic coursework.
Familiarity with AutoCAD and MicroStation.
Strong commitment to learning and professional development.
Effective written and verbal communications skills, and ability to work collaboratively in a team environment.
What we prefer you bring:
Familiarity with engineering software used in substation design is advantageous.
Compensation:The salary range for this role is $21.00 - $28.00 per hour. Salary is dependent upon experience and geographic location. Operational Technology (OT) Engineering Intern
Division: Business Information Technology Services (BITS)
Summary Description: The Operational Technology (OT) Engineering Intern will support the Control Systems team within BITS. This role assists in maintaining and enhancing NCEC's OT infrastructure. Key responsibilities include troubleshooting, supporting system enhancements, performing data analysis, and assisting with integration tasks such as commissioning new Distributed Energy Resource (DER) or Demand Response (DR) resources into the Distributed Energy Resource Management System (DERMS), Pi Historian, Energy Management System (EMS), and System Control and Data Acquisition (SCADA) systems.
Academic and Trade Qualifications:
Currently pursuing a degree in Engineering, Computer Science, Information Technology, or another analytically intensive field.
Coursework or interest in power systems, energy technologies, or data analytics is preferred.
Work Experience:
Prior experience is not required, but exposure to the power/energy industry, engineering projects, or IT systems is a plus.
Familiarity with SCADA, DER/DR, or related technologies is desirable but not mandatory.
Responsibilities:
Assist in developing and maintaining NCEC's OT systems, including design, database structure, integrations, and functionality.
Provide support for OT applications to ensure system uptime and performance.
Help with system upgrades, including testing new functionality and user interface improvements.

Responsibilities:
Logistics & Storage Engineering (L&SE) provides engineering design and project management services to support the continuous growth and maintenance of Marathon's Logistics & Storage (L&S) organization. Project Controls Interns/Co-ops will apply principles learned in construction management/project controls classes to a portfolio of projects ranging from tens of thousands to millions of dollars.
L&SE Project Controls Intern/Co-ops work closely with L&SE Project Engineers to successfully move projects through the 5 phases of the Marathon Project Management Process (MPMP) including conceptual, feasibility, definition, implementation and close-out/start-up. Typical tasks include schedule development and progress monitoring; development and integration of individual schedules into the overall project plan; regular progress updates; identification of key project milestones; resource loading and leveling; and preparation of periodic progress reporting to management. The intern/co-op will learn Project Controls
standards and procedures.
Qualifications:
Candidates must be pursuing a Bachelor's degree in Construction Management, Accounting, or Finance. Other Business majors may be considered.
