Location: Cincinnati, OH area; Plainfield, IN area Overview: Duke Energy's Construction Management Co-op Rotational Program offers students the opportunity to participate in two to three sessions, each with a different department, to provide diverse work experiences and exposure to Transmission Work Management, Construction Management, and Project Management. Students will work closely with their program coordinator during their initial session to plan their future rotations, which may be in the Spring, Summer, or Fall. Key Features: + 16-Week Duration: August 2025 - December 2025 + Full-Time Commitment: Must be available to work 40 hours per week throughout the program + Hands-On Experience: Each rotation provides exposure to different workgroups within Duke Energy to enhance learning and practical experience. Program Highlights: Students will work on a variety of construction and project management activities designed to improve the reliability and functionality of Duke Energy's Transmission assets. This includes exposure to: + Work Management: Gain experience in scheduling, strategic oversight of work plans, and resource allocation. Work with teams responsible for the successful execution of construction or maintenance projects, including resource analysis and workforce planning. + Construction Management: Support various transmission groups in the planning and execution of construction related activities, including contributing to the scheduling of work activities. Track construction production and status in the field to ensure contractors are meeting schedule. Work alongside and as a liaison between the contractors and the Duke teams, i.e. Engineers and Project Managers to ensure safety, financial, reliability, and schedule goals are met. + Project Management: Contribute to the strategic direction, leadership, and management of various projects across Duke Energy's portfolio, focusing on resource allocation, cost control, and scheduling. Students will gain an understanding of project lifecycle management and cross-departmental coordination. Learning Outcomes: Participants will gain exposure to the following areas: + Design and Analysis: Participate in the design and analysis of structures, systems, and facilities within Duke Energy's Transmission department. + Workforce Planning & Scheduling: Develop skills in managing project timelines, budgets, and resource plans, ensuring efficient project execution. + Cross-Functional Collaboration: Work with engineers, construction teams, and project managers to support project goals and milestones. Basic/Required Qualifications: + Must be currently enrolled in an accredited college or university, pursuing a degree in Construction Management. + Must not graduate prior to May 2026 + Cumulative college GPA of 2.75 or higher Desired Qualifications: + Enrolled in a Bachelor's degree program as a rising Sophomore. + Strong communication and teamwork skills. + Interest in working in an engineering, construction, or project management environment. + Willingness to learn and adapt in a fast-paced work environment. Working Conditions: + Ability to work full-time for the 16-week co-op duration. + Field Mobility Classification - Work will be performed in various field locations, as needed, after the onboarding period. A Substation or Line Technician Summer Intern will assist a higher-level technician in activities associated with line/substation construction and maintenance. Preferred Majors: Electrical, Computer Desired Qualifications * Cumulative GPA of 3.0 or higher * Demonstrated technical proficiency in use of computers, software, and engineering applications (CAD tools, MFAD, STAAD Pro, MATLAB, PSS/E, Power World) * Previous engineering work experience * Demonstrated excellent written and oral communication skills. * Demonstrated ability to provide the quantity and quality of work necessary to reach an accomplishment. * Demonstrated leadership qualities through effective decision making. * Works effectively with others from diverse backgrounds to achieve common goal. * Ability to deliver superior results within allocated time through effective prioritization, scheduling, planning and execution of assigned work.
