Our dedicated 12 bed-unit is designed to ensure each patient receives personalized, high-quality care. This fast-paced unit offers a unique patient population of patients with diagnoses such as chest pain, NSTEMIs, cardiac dysrhythmias, post cardiac catheterization, INARI, and pacemaker recovery, as well as the occasional overflow of patients needing to be admitted for dialysis, syncope, etc. Our team members have the unique opportunity to enhance their skills in patient assessments, critical thinking, and decision making while equally making a significant impact on the lives of the community we serve. Our nurse-to-patient ratio ranges from 3:1 and 5:1 as we adjust to safely meet the needs of the individualized patient. This allows our nurses to provide attentive and compassionate care. The3 Anderson, Acute & Intermediate Coronary Care Unit is a 26-bed unit that encompasses a 6-bed Intermediate Coronary Care Unit (ICCU). Patients on this unit includes myocardial infarction, heart failure, and arrhythmia. Also included in our care are pre and post cardiac catheterization and electrophysiology procedures such as pacemaker placement, implantable cardioverter-defibrillator placement and ablation. Summary: The goal of the Student Nurse Externship experience is to provide prelicensure nursing students with an immersive experience to enhance their foundational nursing education and role socialization within a clinical setting. The Student Nurse Extern I (SNE I) position is intended for nursing students enrolled in an accredited School of Nursing to function as a member of the patient care team. The SNE I will work with their RN partner as a partner in practice within their Nursing Assistant I scope of practice. The Student Nurse Extern I demonstrates the ability to learn and apply the concepts they have been taught in their nursing program to provide technically skilled care in their assigned department.
