Dunavant company history timeline

1928

In 1928, William Buchanan Dunavant Sr. started trading cotton with T.J. White & Company.

1960

In 1960, the company was renamed W. B. Dunavant & Company after T. J. White's retirement.

1972

In 1972, the company became Dunavant Enterprises Incorporated, a multi-national trading company, and made the first sale of United States-grown cotton to China.

1979

Established in 1979, Dunavant Sea Lane Express has more than 30 years of experience in transportation, shipping, container storage, drayage, port operations and logistics throughout the Southeast and along the East Coast.

1987

Since 1987, Dunavant Trans Gulf Transportation has consistently proven to be a leader in the Intermodal transportation industry.

2007

In 2007, Ethisphere ranked Dunavant as one of the "World's Most Ethical Companies - Agricultural & Food Processing."
