You feel smarter than you ever have in your life. Especially if you are in the room with the regional manager all the way down to the g.m. I heard of the "Peter principal" in college and thought no way. This company must follow that principal as a core value.
You are always the smartest person in the room. Corp will have you do the same task over and over due to there incompetence all while telling you the importance of time management
I wish there was. No holiday pay. 1 raise a year and it will not even come close to the standard 3%
Cant think of anything.
Practice what you preach. Stop with the negative reinforcement. It is proven this method does not work. While you may see a slight up tick in production of a person, the long term creates a higher level of turn over especially with the low to mid level managers. Which hurts your r.o.i. We have modern problems with old or no solutions.
I didnt. The district manager interviewed me. Seen my resume, barely any follow up questions and hired me on the spot. To be fair I could tell he was very nervous.
The company is roughly 15 to 30 % below the national bench mark depending on what position you apply for.
Its fine. They will hire anyone.
The costumers. Some of them make your day.
Guns
Ad papers first to know the deals
We on bi weekly pay wish it was weekly
Idk never meet him I’m sure he will get around to actually coming by all the Dunhams wouldn’t be a bad idea for a road trip with the family
Hire more diverse people possibly even some bilingual
Head high chest out shoulders back
I would assume below average considering McDonald’s make $12 a hour
Ain’t none I’m the only biracial person there everyone else Caucasian European but tht could be bc of the area not management
Being around gear so i can keep my personal inventory stocked up as the deals come In
Easy job, usually decent at store level GMs. Decently healthy chances of career advancement.
Poor pay. They've asked us to hire people at minimum wage, while competition easily pays 12+ for a basic position. Regional and district managers dont seem to have a clue. Corporate chooses to neglect their employees with the worst healthcare plan I've ever had l added with a poor 401k. Taking advantage of letting you work full time hours while still calling you part time.
Flexable schedules.
Flexible hours
No benefits for part time
I enjoy the employee discount. The atmosphere was always nice and I am lucky to have such a great manager.
Its a job
Almost everything else
Customers asking if im the store manager when im just a cashier
Everyone gets along well with each other.
Not enough employees to help get inventory out and/or put away in a timely fashion.
25% off of inventory
At Dunhams you work in a dirty ,dusty, outdated store with dial-up registers. And the corporate office is run by cheapskate morons with the most moronic policy’s. And worst of all is they make employees wear pants year round no matter the weather
It will be the easiest job to get due to how understaffed all locations are.
Hours and the free beer my gm gives me after work
Dunhams was laid back but professional, they knew how to have fun but also knew the customers were our number one priority.
Dunhams had a hard time finding reliable employees.
I got promoted fairly quickly, Dunhams notices hard workers and address their placements as well acknowledges the work done.
I like my job and the fact I get me work all around the building
It not really a change to move up.
Hours
The lack of micro-managing is often welcome, especially when I need to sit down for a minute after a long line of customers. Whenever we don't get breaks for eight-hour shifts due to inventory or Black Friday, we get smaller breaks with pizza ordered by the managers. Typically friendly environment.
The inconsistency across the team of managers who work here, both in how they treat customers and how they treat their employees; the lack of training combined with the expectation to be able to answer customers' questions; and the sheer difficulty in knowing what we have in stock, both in ours and other stores, and what we will have in stock.
Hour-long breaks for 8+ hour shifts.
