FLSA Status: Non-Exempt Schedule: Monday - Friday, 12:00 PM to 5:00 PM PRIMARY PURPOSE: This position is responsible for performing custodial maintenance duties, including dusting, mopping, finishing and buffing floors, vacuuming, and shampooing carpets, along with cleaning and restocking restroom areas. This position will work in a dedicated building but will relocate at manager's discretion to assist other buildings and departments with custodial tasks, as needed. FOCUS: Essential duties include the following. Other duties as assigned. Maintain a clean work environment for employees and customers by completing the following: Clean floors by sweeping, mopping, scrubbing, and using the motorized floor scrubber. Gather and empty trash. Wipe down counter areas and frequent contact areas, such as doors, handles, etc. Put away shop supplies, consumables, etc. as needed. Assist with putting away tools/parts in the shop(s). Organize shelves and storage space in the shop(s), as time allows. Assist with the following custodial needs in designated office areas: Wipe down desk areas and interior glass. Replace and take out trash and recycling. Vacuum and mop floor. Clean restroom areas. Keep restrooms areas in designated shop(s) clean and fully stocked with paper necessities and soap. Complete minor projects as directed by Custodial Manager. Help with coverage of other shops in the absence of other custodial team members. Undertake occasional custodial and janitorial tasks (shoveling snow from the sidewalk, sweeping the pathways, pulling weeds, putting down ice melt, etc.) Must follow the company's safety rules and policies. Maintain a professional image at all times. SKILLS & EXPERIENCE: Proven experience as custodian, janitor or in a similar role High attention to detail and conscientiousness. Valid driver's license and dependable transportation to and from work. Ability to safely use cleaning equipment and supplies. Ability to understand verbal instructions. The Team Member (TM.) role supports all operational, front-end, freight, and merchandising processes and helps maintain an active selling culture by ensuring that all processes are held to documented company standards designed to drive sales. Key Roles & Responsibilities: The TM maintains a positive attitude, works with a sense of urgency, and executes all company directives, policies, and procedures accurately, thoroughly, and in a timely manner. The TM contributes to a customer-focused environment while providing excellent customer service. The Team Member performs cashier and front-end duties as assigned, ensuring transactions are completed accurately and efficiently while providing customers with a positive shopping experience. The Team Member unloads, processes, and stocks freight within the correct location while following all store merchandising guidelines. TM performs Store recovery, conditioning, and housekeeping tasks as assigned inside and outside the building. Deli Team Member are responsible for preparing, slicing, cooking, weighing, pricing, serving food and merchandising the department's deli products. Deli products include deli meats, cheeses, salads, sandwiches, breakfast items, fried foods and vegetables for hot case items. They inform customers about our deli products and services and help increase sales by having a great food presentation in the hot deli case, great general cleanliness of the deli area, great customer service skills and suggestive selling deli merchandise. They work with equipment like fryers, ovens, grills, serving utensils, knives and potato cutters. Employees are responsible for filling out daily cook sheets for food production and to control waste. Employees must date and rotate all merchandise in the coolers and freezers. * The following constitute "essential functions" of the job. * Read, understand, and write the English language at the eighth-grade level; * Perform arithmetic calculations at the eighth-grade level in order to be able to account for a variety of products during vendor check-in; accurately price deli merchandise and follow directions for recipes * Have sufficient visual acuity to read labels, recipes, temperature readings and to avoid general hazards form working in a deli which has hot equipment present. * Read and understand instructions for proper cooking procedures, recipes, dates, and general instructions concerning the deli area. * Can lift up to 50 pounds, and carry cases of chicken, boxes of potatoes and large bags of flour. * Can stand or your feet for 8 to 10 hours while cooking and serving customers. * Can react to a fire by lifting the fire extinguisher and using it to extinguish the fire Can work in a hot environment around hot equipment such as ovens, fryer and grills Can work in cold conditions for brief periods such as the cooler or freezers The list of requirements, duties, and responsibilities listed above is by no means a complete list.
