As a Mortgage Loan Officer, you will guide members through the lending process with accuracy, transparency, and care while supporting departmental goals and ensuring compliance with all regulatory requirements.
Key Responsibilities
Provide exceptional service by identifying member mortgage needs and recommending appropriate lending solutions.
Educate members on mortgage products, rates, terms, and the overall loan process.
Represent MEMBERS1st with professionalism, respect, and a service-oriented approach aligned with our mission and values.
Originate and manage a pipeline of residential mortgage loans, including intake, application review, documentation collection, and file preparation.
Submit complete and accurate files to underwriting while ensuring timely processing and adherence to policies.

Collaborate with underwriting, processing, closing, and other internal departments to maintain efficiency and loan quality.
Ensure all mortgage activities comply with federal/state regulations, investor guidelines, and credit union policies.
Stay current on mortgage regulations, lending guidelines, and industry trends.
Protect member information by maintaining confidentiality and security standards.
Complete all required Mortgage Loan Originator (MLO) training and licensing.
Represent MEMBERS1st at community events, educational sessions, and service initiatives.
Develop and maintain relationships with real estate agents, builders, and referral partners to support loan growth.
Promote the credit union's cooperative philosophy and commitment to member and community well-being.
Perform additional duties as needed to support credit union operations and initiatives.
Compensation
Base Salary: $65,000
Commission: Compensation will include a base salary plus a commission rate, based on experience and loan origination volume.
Education/Experience
High school diploma or equivalent required; associate or bachelor's degree in business, finance, or related field preferred.
Previous experience in mortgage lending, banking, credit unions, or financial services strongly preferred.
Must possess or obtain all required Mortgage Loan Originator (MLO) licensing and registration in accordance with federal and state requirements.
Experience with loan origination software, financial systems, and digital document workflows preferred.
