The Manufacturing Technology Engineer role will work to upgrade processes and products that may range from incremental improvements to major technology changes. A primary focus is to improve process efficiency, quality, process safety, yield, plant capacity and Overall Equipment Effectiveness.
Responsibilities:
* Leads through influence within a team (operations specialists & production, reliability, & process control engineers) to prioritize, coordinate and execute efforts for the assets of responsibility, exhibiting strong interpersonal skills
* Designs/Implements large programs and/or process improvements (yield, quality, uptime, capacity release)
* Responsible to ensure adequate basic data is created for CapEx projects and provides resourcing support (e.g. development and/or Plans for Commissioning, Decommissioning, Start-Up and Shut Down)
* Supports the startup and qualification of new equipment
* Leads troubleshooting and root cause failure analyses (RCFAs) for complex issues
* Identifies and works with technical personnel & operations to develop best practices for processes
* Networks and leverages the broader organization (Leveraged Engineering Resources, Quality, R&D, Marketing, etc.)
* Provides technical oversight of ongoing production
* Enables and assists in the training of operators, mechanics and other technical team members to convey the "why" of the fundamentals
* Drives product-by-process through development and documentation of manufacturing standard process
* Utilizes Lean Manufacturing & Six Sigma methodology
* Supports key PSM Technology Elements as needed (Process Technology, PHA, Management of Change-Technology)
Minimum qualifications:
* BS in Mechanical, Chemical or Electrical Engineering
Preferred qualifications:
* Expert in Web Handling technology
* 5+ Years Industrial plant experience working with PSM critical processes/systems
* Expert at developing basic data, project execution, equipment startup & commissioning
* Expert with Lean Manufacturing Principles
* Experience with control systems, PLCs, HMIs
* Demonstrated ability to apply technical knowledge to diagnose, troubleshoot, solve or help others solve equipment and/or process issues.
* Demonstrated knowledge of key PSM Technology elements such as Process Hazards Analysis, Process Technology, Management of Change-Technology, RAGAGEP among others
* Demonstrated ability to teach, coach, mentor, develop others, and work in a team-based environment

As a Production Supervisor, Night Shift, working onsite in Cleveland, OH, you will report to the Production Superintendent to mentor safety, quality and productivity of teams to ensure goals are met through the development of and adherence to standardized work. This is a 12-hour rotating night shift working Friday - Sunday from 5pm to 5:30am.
Key Responsibilities:
Build a conducive work environment for the team(s) to complete their assigned responsibilities.

Resolve workflow problems by analyzing impediments and organizing work to improve use of personnel and material resources.

Qualifications:

Salary range: 65-85K

As a Manufacturing Engineer, you will have the opportunity to lead and execute cost savings projects that are directly tied to key strategic goals for the business.
Roles and Responsibilities
As an Manufacturing Engineer, you will have the opportunity to make an impact by:
Promoting safety as the most important value in the organization by contributing through training, process improvement and other environmental, health, and safety responsibilities
Documenting standard processes and procedures for implementation and training
Developing and implementing production/processing methods and controls to meet quality standards in the most cost efficient manner.
Providing support to manufacturing to resolve production and quality issues that arise on a day-to-day basis
Working with machine repair team members to analyze root cause and define corrective actions for future preventive maintenance
Conducting technical inspections of complex machines
Recommending and implementing improvements and/or modifications in sequence of operations, equipment utilization, and related matters
Evaluating and approving design changes, specifications and drawing releases
Partnering with the Manufacturing Engineering Manager to develop and execute projects that are a part of the Identifications Enterprise Lean Sigma journey
Managing special projects; which could include supplier relationships, production performance management, sustainability, and other ad hoc projects
Setting project schedules by monitoring project progress, coordinating activities, and solving problems
Defining requirements for new equipment validation run-off
Preparing new machines and production equipment for operation
Optimizing direct and indirect manufacturing labor and in-plant material flow through the use of industrial engineering methods including line balancing, time studies, as well as both in-plant and external material flow
Designing and planning equipment layouts

In this role you will:
Champion process development and optimization for thermal processing and twin-screw extrusion, driving innovation and best practices within cross-functional teams.
Design, execute, and interpret trials for food processing innovations, facilitating knowledge-sharing and collaboration among teams.
Lead the successful scale-up and commercialization of new products and technologies by fostering teamwork and effective communication demonstration of CQV tools and principles.
Provide technical leadership and mentorship, guiding lab activities, supporting onboarding, and developing technical training programs for team members at all levels.
Collaborate across departments to identify opportunities for process improvements, solve technical challenges, and ensure alignment with business goals.
Analyze processing data using advanced modeling and simulation tools to establish specifications and guide team decision-making.

What we are looking for:
Minimum Requirements:
Bachelors in chemical engineering, food science, mechanical engineering, or related field is required.
5+ years' experience with advanced degree, or 10+ years with Bachelor's; experience in food manufacturing, thermal processing, and extrusion.
Demonstrated knowledge of food safety standards and validation practices.
Successful cross-functional project leadership and change management.
Skilled in process modeling/simulation (i.e. JMP, Aspen, Minitab) for throughput and quality optimization.
Understanding of ingredient functionality and its effect on food quality.
Experienced in scaling up and commercializing (CQV) processes.
Strong communication, collaboration, and problem-solving abilities.
Able to work independently and lead projects from planning through delivery.
Additional skills and experience that we think would make someone successful in this role:
Advanced degree in Chemical Engineering, Food Science, or Mechanical Engineering.
Experience in twin-screw extrusion of pet treats, including formulation development, die design, and post-extrusion handling.
