Job Summary:
The Production Supervisor is responsible for leading a manufacturing production team to work injury-free/incident free in a manufacturing environment. They will provide leadership and direction for their team in a way that motivates them to meet all productivity, safety, and quality goals. They are driven to continually improve performance and embrace changes that will help both their team and company meet production standards. They normally will lead a team of 20-30 team members.
Job Responsibilities:
Ensures a safe workplace is maintained and there is a safety mindset in all things we do
Follows, and ensures others follow, all policies, standards, and safety requirements defined by the company
Drives safety excellence through promoting employee involvement, ownership, and accountability to proactively eliminate hazards
Hires, schedules, and supervises full-time staff and additional temporary staff
Provides coaching and corrective feedback timely as well as administers disciplinary processes up to and including termination, as necessary
Performs timely quarterly and annual reviews for all team members
Facilitate team development and growth, employee skill development, problem-solving and resolution
Oversees all process documentation and training program procedures for consistency of operational tasks, and the safety and cleanliness of the workplace
Ensures a quality product is being produced and all quality processes are being followed
Works directly with Quality Control, Engineering, and Maintenance, to improve quality, streamline efficiencies and reduce operating expenses
Tracks productivity for measured efficiency and improvement and operates at or below the budgeted cost for production utilizing lean manufacturing procedures and cross training
Oversees adherence to inventory control procedures to ensure inventory accuracy goals are constantly achieved
Assist with troubleshooting and solving production issues
Performs other duties as requested by management
Demonstrated leadership in safety & environmental compliance

This job involves the following physical demands: walking, standing, bending, stretching, using hands and fingers to hold, grasp, push, and lift items
A large percentage of work time is spent in a plant where temperatures can range from cool to hot and noise level can be moderate to high
Lifting may be required with assistance provided if needed, up to 40 lbs.

Who You Are:
The Ideal candidate will have 2+ years relevant manufacturing experience operating machines. Glass industry experience preferred.
What You Will Be Doing:
As a Polisher (Machine Operator I), you will be responsible for operating a flat polisher/glass edging machine, as well as perform preventative maintenance on the machine.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES (other duties may be assigned):
Sets up and operates a single side straight-line glass-edging machine to polish glass or mirror edges.
Starts machine and places glass or mirrors on conveyor of machine.
Fabricates glass to the specification requested by the customer, and verifies program geometric dimension based off work orders received.
Moves glass from machine and wipe edges to remove polishing compound.
Requires the use of an overhead crane to lift and maneuver glass onto the machine.
Follows work instructions by reading labels to expedite the production process; understands and communicates paperwork and labels/picking list.
Maintains safe operations by adhering to safety procedures and regulations.
Documents actions by completing production and quality logs.
Transports materials including glass from one position/location to another in an effort to expedite the production process.
Utilize a tape measure to ensure product is within the product specifications
Strap glass to the carts and or trucks so they are safe for moving
Daily inspections - Look for any unsafe objects, check equipment, etc.
Skills You Bring:
MINIMUM SKILLS AND REQUIREMENTS include the following:
Experience in a production or manufacturing environment; Glass industry is preferred (not required).
HEAVY LIFTING - Must be able to lift up to 75 lbs. unassisted. Must be able to lift up to 150 lbs. with assistance.
Must be able to push weights greater than 150lbs with a team.
Must be able to accurately read a tape measure.
Must be able to follow instructions from Supervisor, Plant Manager and/or Branch Manager.
Ability to work in varied temperatures consistent with same climate conditions of the region in a non-climate controlled facility (Heat, Cold, humidity).
Experience using hoists and cranes a plus.

What you will be doing (2nd shift):
Clearly understands and follows ALL Linde plc Safety Policies including but not limited to proper PPE, proper lifting techniques, and local site safety requirements.

Count all incoming cylinders.
Load/unload trucks daily.
Pull cylinders and verify lot numbers as required.

Reviews and documents proper thermometer, gauge and analytical equipment calibrations and ensures all equipment is properly calibrated and within established guidelines for frequency.
Remove all old labels and clean cylinders using approved cleaning solution.
Safely operate a forklift to load and unload trucks and gather stock from the warehouse.
Receive all goods according to standard written procedures, recording all incoming shipments, checking shipments against purchase orders, and verifying contents of shipments against packing slips.
Inspect valves for correct CGA connection and pressure relief device.
Connect cylinders to manifold, opens valves to draw off residual gas and evacuate cylinders.
Inspect cylinder labels to assure they are legible, compliant with current federal requirements and correct for the service intended; replace if damaged or inappropriate
Fill cylinders in accordance with specific guidelines whether by pressure or weight, as appropriate. Weigh cylinders filled with liquid products on platform scale and record weight.
Test cylinders for leaks by brushing or spraying chemical solution around valve. Record all necessary documentation and set a cylinder aside for settled pressure checks.
Operate and safely maintain equipment for pumping or repackaging gases into cylinders. â–ª Perform all required pre-fill and post-fill inspections and tests before cylinders are released.
Ensure cylinders are adequately maintained. Cylinders requiring maintenance or repair are removed from service until corrected.
Regularly inspect and maintain pumping apparatus and associated monitoring devices.
Ensure cylinder filling records are accurately maintained and that all required procedures are followed in accordance with local, state, and federal regulations.
Safely operate a forklift and hand truck.
Maintain a neat, clean, and orderly plant appearance.
Perform mathematical calculations as necessary.

* Hang and pack move basement door parts from storage area, then lift them onto the hangers of the conveyer going into the paint booth, keeping up with the speed of the conveyer. Remove basement doors parts from the paint booth hangers and move them to the packing area, keeping up with the speed of the conveyer. Properly align parts in the wrapper, pick up and insert spacers, attach band to the package, and move finished package onto a pallet. Move basement door parts weighing up to 60# approximately four feet, and lift them 3 feet high to attach them to the paint booth conveyer. Lift these same parts off of the conveyer and move them 10 fee to the packing area, then move completed package weighing 200#, three feet to a pallet.
* Actively participate in "5S" procedures as well as all Continuous Improvement efforts
* Perform any and all other duties as assigned by Supervisor or Manager.
* Follow all safety rules and regulations. Wear all proper PPE as assigned or warranted in the work area.
* Ability to meet productivity and quality control standards for the position.

What You Bring:
* High school diploma, GED or equivalent combination of education and experience.
* Consistently lift 20-30 pounds & ability to lift 50 pounds occasionally
* At least 6 months of production, assembly or related work experience
