If you plan on pursuing a career as a registered nurse, you can receive credit towards an associate's degree for your BOCES accomplishments at these schools: * Helen Fund School of Nursing * Elizabeth Seton-Iona College * Delhi Agricultural and Technical College * Dutchess Community College The advantage of continuing your education to become a registered nurse is that, if you have already earned licensure as a practical nurse, many schools offer flexible training programs that can be completed in as little as a year's time. The two-tier Practical Nursing program features instruction in supporting and rehabilitating patients through a variety of functions. You will gain hands-on experience as you work throughout many of the Poughkeepsie community's hospitals, nursing homes and patient clinics. To be considered eligible for the program, you must have completed prerequisite work in Pre-Nursing with a solid foundational education in biology, math and chemistry.
