Required Skills: Must be a Self-Starter; has the ability to work independently & take initiative Problem-solver Forklift experience Utility trailer experience Entry level to intermediate level construction experience required Moderate carpentry and electrical experience. Organized HVAC experience preferred but not required. Job Description The Takeoff Technician will assist the estimating team by performing accurate quantity takeoffs and supporting proposal preparations for heavy civil and roadway projects. This position will focus on data entry, plan review, and organization of estimating materials to help ensure complete and accurate cost estimates. Responsibilities: Review and interpret engineering drawings, specifications, and other project documents. Perform detailed quantity takeoffs for earthwork, utilities, and roadway items using company software. Assist in organizing bid documents and maintaining project files. Input and update data into estimating and takeoff software (HCSS, Agtek, Bluebeam). Coordinate with estimators to verify quantities, material requirements, and subcontractor inputs. Support the gathering and organization of supplier and subcontractor quotes. Help maintain standardized takeoff templates and historical quantity databases. Learn and apply estimating principles under the guidance of senior estimators. Qualifications 1-3 years of experience in construction, civil engineering, or related field preferred (internship or field experience accepted). Familiarity with reading civil construction plans and performing basic measurements. Experience with takeoff or design software (Agtek, Bluebeam, AutoCAD, HCSS, or similar) is a plus.
