We are seeking a detail-oriented and experienced Payroll Specialist to oversee end-to-end payroll processing and reporting for our consulting engineering firm with approximately 400 employees. The role involves administering biweekly payroll through ADP Workforce Now, managing 401(k) contributions and loans, preparing unemployment wage reports, supporting leave administration, and ensuring compliance with tax and regulatory requirements-including Form 5500 filing. The ideal candidate will also bring expertise in integrating payroll systems with ERP platforms and have a strong focus on streamlining processes and improving efficiency.
Responsibilities
Process biweekly payroll using ADP Workforce Now for approximately 400 employees across multiple states.
Calculate wages, benefits, tax deductions, bonuses, and overtime in accordance with employment agreements and legal requirements.
Ensure payroll accuracy, tax compliance, and timely processing of earnings, deductions, garnishments, and direct deposits. Ensure compliance with relevant laws (e.g., FLSA, FICA, IRS regulations).
Coordinate with HR for new hires, terminations, and employee status changes
Collaborate with the HR team to administer 401(k) Plan, manage data upload of contributions and loan repayments, reconciliations, ensure timely funding and accurate reporting.

Identify and implement opportunities to streamline payroll operations, enhance controls, and improve reporting accuracy, document procedures and processes.
Maintain confidentiality of employee and company payroll data.

Qualifications
Education & Experience:
Associate degree minimum in accounting, finance, bookkeeping, or related field (7+ years' equivalent experience may be considered in lieu of degree).

The Geotechnical Intern is responsible for various field, laboratory and engineering tasks needed to support the geotechnical group throughout regions where we do business. Intern responsibilities typically include training to complete on site construction phase soil and concrete testing and inspection; conducting soil laboratory tests, and preparing inspection and data reports.

The Environmental Technical Professional is responsible for providing accurate notes and descriptions of all field activities while reporting to their respective supervisor daily. The Environmental Technical Professional will also be required to provide accurate site inspection reports (SIRs), daily summary emails to their immediate supervisor, and provide accurate project documentation as per the Dynamic Earth engineering handbook. Office duties will include, data evaluation, entry, technical writing, research, document preparation and file management. Main focus of education should include site remediation, geology or environmental science.
Responsibilities
Conduct environmental site evaluations, testing, and inspection services.
Assist with the completion of site investigation activities such as soil borings and/or test pit excavations, and other supporting tasks as deemed necessary by Supervisor.
Complete soil, ground water, and air sampling and investigations.
Pickup and drop-off samples to laboratories.
Earthwork oversight (overexcavation of fill material, excavation of contaminated soils, etc.).
Conduct Post excavating samples.
Test pit oversight.
Complete project data analysis and report writing.
Complete ASTM Phase I site assessments.
Develop standard operating procedures for the equipment under the direction of a senior engineer.
Maintain the instruments in calibrated condition, collecting and reporting data to the manager, managing lab supply/inventory, and assisting in preparation of reports/presentations.
Ensure that all safety policies and procedures are followed.
Perform other duties as assigned.
Qualifications
Bachelor's Degree in Environmental Science, Geology or related engineering field.
1-4 years' experience in Environmental Engineering.
Valid driver's license.
Ability to maintain and operate personal and/or company vehicle.
American Society for Testing and Materials (ASTM) Phase I site assessment experience and knowledge of New Jersey state regulations and guidelines. (preferred)
Must have hands-on experience with metric and English tools.
40 Hours OSHA training preferred.
Field survey experience a plus.

The Environmental Scientist is responsible for environmental remediation projects which include remediation design and implementation. The Environmental Scientist will be involved in field work to support environmental site characterization, Phase I/II site assessment, engineering, and remediation projects. Field tasks include the coordination, implementation, and documentation of: soil, groundwater, air, and soil vapor sampling; remediation system O&M; soil boring/well installation; contractor oversight. Office duties include data reduction/evaluation, technical analysis, and reporting of project work while working with oversight from the Senior Engineer/Principal.
Responsibilities

Overview
The Traffic Intern works alongside the Design Engineer and under the direction of a Project Manager and is responsible for day-to-day project work producing technical deliverables for traffic and transportation engineering projects.
Responsibilities
Establish and monitor adherence to project schedule and budget.
Provide all necessary coordination and follow-up on the work to ensure quality standards are met, efficiency levels are maintained and client satisfaction, respect and confidence are assured.

Perform footing subgrade inspections to review soils composition and bearing capacity and/or determine depth of overexcavation for unsuitable subgrade soils; Earthwork oversight (monitoring overexcavation of unsuitable materials and compaction testing of structural fill material);
Communicate effectively and efficiently with contractors and project manager.
Maintain the instruments in calibrated condition, collecting and reporting data to the manager, managing lab supply/inventory, and assisting in preparation of reports/presentations.
Ensure that safety policies and procedures are followed.
Perform other duties as assigned.
Qualifications
Bachelor's Degree in engineering or construction related field preferred.
0-4 years' experience in construction inspection field or laboratory testing.
Valid driver's license.
Ability to maintain and operate personal and/or company vehicle.
Must have hands-on experience with metric and English tools.
American Concrete Institute (ACI) concrete field-testing technician certificate, accredited construction inspection/materials testing certificates, OSHA 40, OSHA 10, and/or American Portable Nuclear Gauge Association (APNGA) gauge training preferred.
Must have hands-on experience with metric and English tools.
Proficient in the use of Microsoft Software including Word, Excel, and Outlook.
Excellent written and oral communication skills.
Ability to understand general computer commands and learn supporting software for entering field data, laboratory data, timesheets, etc.
Independent and critical thinking abilities.
Self-starter who can work independently and with team members.

Work Environment
While performing the duties of this job, the employee is subject to the following work environment:
The field inspections/visits are dictated by construction schedules and could include early morning or late evening timing at the project site.
The employee is subject to both inside and outside environmental conditions.
The employee is expected to perform the majority of their work week outdoors. Outdoor work frequently includes walking on uneven surfaces in all types of weather conditions and may have exposure to animals, insects, plants, etc.
The employee is subject to hazards such as proximity to moving mechanical parts, moving vehicles, electrical current, working on scaffolding and high places, exposure to high heat or exposure to chemicals.

The salary range for this position is $20 - $26/hr.
