    We're seeking an eCommerce Strategy Director to elevate content performance and drive digital shelf success for a major CPG client. In this role you'll be serving as a dedicated strategic partner to drive their brand's digital performance. In the future, this role may transition to a shared bench of eCommerce strategy expertise, supporting multiple clients. Your deep expertise in SEO, content performance, and retailer strategies will aide in translating complex business challenges into tailored, scalable eCommerce solutions that drive conversion, brand affinity, and market leadership. This leader will bring the right mix of strategic thinking, platform expertise, and content fluency to guide how our client shows up across key retailers like Amazon, Walmart, and Target-and how we as an agency can scale our strategic offerings This is a remote role with preference to candidates in Chicago or Toronto. JOB RESPONSIBILITIES: Client Partnership & Strategic Leadership Serve as a strategic partner to client teams-turning business goals into actionable eCommerce content strategies Lead digital shelf and SEO-driven content strategy across key retailers and DTC platforms Build frameworks that define what “best-in-class” looks like across PDPs and brand storefronts Translate data and insights into performance-boosting content strategies and roadmaps Lead client presentations and work sessions to align on strategy and measure progress Content & Platform Expertise Guide copy and creative teams with content best practices across Amazon, Walmart, Target, and other retailers Audit content regularly to identify opportunities for optimization or syndication Recommend content variations and enhancements tailored to platform algorithms, requirements, capabilities and shopper behavior Stay ahead of algorithm changes, retailer updates, and eCommerce trends Performance & Optimization Partner with insights teams to analyze content health, SEO performance, and retail KPIs Make data-backed recommendations to continuously improve content effectiveness Collaborate with analytics to connect e-commerce results to broader marketing impact/full funnel effectiveness Support tool evaluation, both internal and external client tools (Helium 10, Jungle Scout, Salsify, Profitero, Stackline, etc.) to improve performance visibility and tracking Internal Growth & Practice Building Support the development of reusable tools, templates, and best practices Responsibility to contribute to business impact and client revenue growth Share thought leadership internally and contribute to client RFPs or case studies Help elevate overall eComm IQ across internal teams through informal mentoring and knowledge sharing QUALIFICATIONS: 5-8 years of eCommerce experience in content strategy, digital shelf optimization, or performance marketing Deep knowledge of major retailer platforms (Amazon, Walmart, Target, etc.), SEO, PDP strategy, and content syndication tools Experience with platforms like Helium 10, Walmart Connect, Amazon Ads / Vendor Central, Profitero, Stackline, Salsify, Vizit, or similar Experience translating insights into action-from audits to optimization roadmaps Strong communicator and presenter who can simplify the complex and align stakeholders Highly collaborative and proactive, with experience partnering across creative, copy, insights, and client service teams Understanding of retailer and google algorithms Expertise in industry best practices and a proactive approach to incorporating new techniques and tools into content strategies Experience developing omnichannel comms plans that include ecommerce and retail conversion Strong understanding of major retail media platforms - Amazon and Walmart Off-line shopper marketing strategy experience in the CPG category Occasional travel either locally, nationally, and/or internationally may be required.
