A Brief Overview
The RN Clinical NursePractice Specialist (CNPS) is an expert clinician with advanced education and training. They are responsible for applying expert knowledge, advanced assessment skills, and experience to a specific patient population, across the system. The CNPS serves as an educator, a consultant, and as a clinical expert. Responsible for ensuring the use of evidence-based practices are applied to achieve optimal quality, cost effective, patient focused outcomes across the three spheres of impact (Patient Care, Nurses and Nursing, Organization and Systems). Clinical Expertise

Develop and provide nursing education in a variety of venues and/or methods.

What You Will Need
Masters Degree Nursing Required
Doctorate Nursing Preferred
Current Registered Nurse (RN) license in the state of Illinois required
5+ Years Clinical experience in a medical center, hospital environment or academic setting required.
Current American Heart Association (AHA) Current Basic Life Support required
Current nursing specialty certification; if no specialty nursing certification, certification required within one year of assuming role.

Position Highlights:
Position: Nurse Intern (Nursing Student - Patient Care Technician)
Location: Swedish Hospital, Chicago
Student will commit to full-time Nurse Intern Program Schedule of 8 weeks. Program runs from June 1st - July 31st. Interns may not work the week of July 4th.
Hours: Per Diem. Monday-Friday; possible weekend coverage; Commitment is 32 hours per week; day or pm shift.
Three (eight-hour) or two (12-hour) days per week will be scheduled in the role of a nursing assistant on the home unit, working under the direction of an assigned staff nurse.
One (eight-hour) day per week will be provided to ?shadow? a nurse on a specialty unit. Shadow days as a nurse intern provides the opportunity to ?follow? a staff RN, observe patient populations in the specialty, and perform skills under the RN?s direct supervision.
Nurse Interns may be scheduled for either the day or pm shift and may rotate at the end of the first 4 weeks. Scheduled nurse interns are not part of the unit staffing grid.
Nurse Interns hired for the Summer Program may opt into the Year-Round Program. If the Nurse Intern does not choose to continue, employment will terminate after the eight-week commitment.
Required Travel: Will travel to other Endeavor Health sites for new employee orientation and nursing orientation.

Position Summary:
This position is responsible for assisting in the nursing assessment plan and supporting the coordination of medical and psychiatric care in collaboration with the medical staff. The role involves providing input into the development of the Medical Treatment Plan and overseeing the medical care of clients. Ensure CARF and industry standards are met by the nursing department.
Provide communication with PA and/or MD with relevant information to streamline the effective intake process.
Communicate effectively with all treatment team members to ensure the client is receiving holistic care within their treatment plan(s).
Provide Medication Assisted Treatment education, induction, and monitoring as prescribed by PA/MD.
Ensure timeliness and accuracy of pharmacy deliveries and orders and communicate with pharmacy and treatment teams.
Maintain good customer service with clients and employees.
Facilitate patient lectures on health-related topics.
Work with outside referral resources to ensure clients' medical needs are addressed while in treatment.
Provide referrals to clients prior to discharge for ongoing medical care.
