About the position:

As a member of this team, this individual will work on next generation ePaper products that support our mission of Making Surfaces Smarter and Green. About the position:
The Facilities Maintenance Technician is responsible for the upkeep and repair of buildings and equipment, ensuring a safe and functional environment. This includes tasks like preventative maintenance, responding to repair requests, and maintaining various building systems. They may also be involved in coordinating with contractors, maintaining records, and ensuring adherence to safety regulations.
Key Responsibilities:
Preventive Maintenance:
Perform routine checks and maintenance on building systems, such as HVAC, electrical, plumbing, and security systems, to prevent potential issues
Repair and Troubleshooting:
Diagnose and repair malfunctions in building equipment, machinery, and systems, including electrical, mechanical, and plumbing components
Record Keeping:
Maintain accurate records of maintenance and repair activities, including work orders, inventory, and safety logs
Safety Compliance:
Ensure all work is performed in accordance with safety regulations and procedures
Coordination:
Collaborate with other maintenance staff, contractors, and building occupants to address maintenance needs
Emergency Response:
Respond to after-hours emergencies and take appropriate action to resolve issues
Other Duties:
May include landscaping, minor carpentry, painting, and other general maintenance tasks
Qualifications:
Education: High School diploma or equivalent
Experience level: Minimum 5 years of commercial building maintenance
Technical Skills: Knowledge of electrical, mechanical, and plumbing systems, as well as experience with hand and power tools
Problem-Solving: Ability to diagnose and troubleshoot issues, identify root causes, and implement effective solutions
Communication: Effective verbal and written communication skills to interact with colleagues, contractors, and building occupants
Time Management: Ability to prioritize tasks, manage time effectively, and meet deadlines
Teamwork: Ability to work effectively as part of a team and collaborate with others
Computer Skills Experience with Outlook Office and CMMS computerized maintenance management systems

Responsibilities
Module Integration for new products (50%)
* Define design rules and integration processes for new module platforms in collaboration with teams in China and Taiwan
* Develop reference designs, support material selection and qualification, and establish process parameters to ensure performance requirements are met
* Act as liaison between U.S. R&D and Asia production teams; lead regular technical meetings
* Travel to Asia up to 30-40% annually
Module Advancement & Continuous Improvement (50%)
* Serve as technical lead for the display module fabrication lab, including staff training, vendor engagement, and qualification of new tools and processes
* Develop and maintain SOPs for equipment and processes
* Troubleshoot downstream processes and support transfer of new requirements to enable improved test devices
Qualifications
* BS in Mechanical Engineering (or related field) with 3-5 years of experience OR MS/Ph.D. with 0-3 years
* Fluency in Mandarin Chinese required
* Strong oral and written communication skills
Preferences
* Knowledge of electronics and clean-room assembly processes (lamination, autoclaving, edge sealing)
* Familiarity with Six Sigma tools (Root Cause Analysis, FMEA, DOE, simulations, statistical analysis)
* Experience with COMSOL Multiphysics
* Experience with external development teams and contract manufacturers
