Overview The Field Assistant supports the day-to-day operations of utility electric pole inspections by assisting field teams with logistical, administrative, and coordination tasks. This role plays a critical part in ensuring smooth site operations, safety, community outreach, and accurate documentation. The ideal candidate is detail-oriented, organized, and comfortable working in a fast-paced, field-based environment. The duration of this project is 3 to 6 months. Responsibilities Assist with on-site project coordination, including setup and breakdown of job sites. Perform daily site walks to check progress and safety compliance. Take and organize site photos and notes for reporting and documentation. Assist in preparing daily field reports, timesheets, and other logs. Coordinate with subcontractors and vendors as needed. Support public outreach efforts. Maintain and organize project documentation. Help enforce safety protocols and report any unsafe conditions. Run errands or pick up supplies when necessary. Act as a visual observer to support drone pilots. Support the operations lead and project manager with other duties as assigned. Qualifications Qualifications High school diploma or GED required, relevant coursework or certifications a plus. 1+ year of experience in construction or related field preferred. Strong organizational and communication skills. Basic understanding of construction processes and terminology. Proficiency with smartphones, cameras, tablets, computer and basic office software (e.g., Excel, Word, Google Drive). Ability to read simple construction drawings or site plans is a plus. Ability to lift up to 50 lbs and work in outdoor environments. Candidates must have a valid driver's license and reliable personal transportation (vehicle) for job duties is preferred. The position will work under the direction of the Lead Structural Engineer. Responsibilities Utilize 2D or 3D computer aided design software to create layouts of civil/structural systems, devices and components, and create fabrication and assembly drawings.
