The Robotic Welder Operator works with little or no instruction in performing robotic welding of steel in various shapes, sizes, and thicknesses as needed for projects. Duties and Responsibilities: Programs, sets-up, and operates robotic welder. Builds or modifies tooling for product and new design. Complete fit-up of structure, pipe and accessories for vessels. Welds in multiple positions. Trains and mentor others. Identify various metals and alloys such as mild & high strength steel, aluminum, and stainless as well as identify structural shapes. Use measuring devices and gauges to determine thickness and size of metal. Use oxygen/acetylene torch for cutting metals. Use grinder and other hand or power tools required to grind, bevel, or fit metals together, and remove slag.
