Job DescriptionDescriptionWe are seeking a Full-Time Kennel Assistant to help provide outstanding patient care and client service in a fast-paced, multi-doctor animal hospital. The Kennel Assistant is responsible for maintaining back of hospital duties. These tasks include: caring for boarding animals, maintaining appropriate feeding schedules/providing prescribed medication to pets, maintaining the kennel area (cleaning and mopping), bathing animals and upholding the highest level of care for all pets. Answers call lights and attend to/reports patient needs promptly and politely. Demonstrates the skills and judgment necessary to provide non-direct patient care/support services to staff under the direction of licensed personnel. Consistently optimizes time efficiently and effectively, and serves as a role model/resource for others. Respectfully uses hospital resources appropriately, avoiding misuse, abuse, or waste as specific to lean principles. Promptly, thoroughly, and accurately records applicable patient charges to ensure appropriate billing of services and supplies. PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS Note: Reasonable accommodations may be made for individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functions of this position. Medium lifting, pushing and pulling is required for 20-50 lbs occasionally, 10-20 pounds frequently and 10 lbs constantly to move objects. These could include (but are not limited to): Personal Hygiene Ambulation/Transfers Dressing Prepares meals and snacks according to instructions Accompany patient on errands or medical appointments Performs light housekeeping activities Performs patient-specific activities that are taught by a Right at Home staff. These could include (but are not limited to): Providing hospice supportive care Medication reminders Assisting with the prescribed range of motion exercises Care of bed-bound patients Incontinence care Use lifting equipment such as gait belts and Hoyer lifts Preferred Experience in: Hoyer lift Personal care Range of Motion Exercises Light cleaning
