The Rad Tech II is responsible for operating radiographic equipment to perform diagnostic and other clinical exams as directed, and serves as a coach to student technologists. A Brief Overview The Rad Tech II is responsible for operating radiographic equipment to perform diagnostic and other clinical exams as directed, and serves as a coach to student technologists. Models appropriate behavior as exemplified in MLH Mission, Vision and Values. What you will do Performs radiologic and other requested examinations on assigned patients. Determines technical and positioning factors and positions patient for exam. Determines and selects proper radiographic factors in order to minimize radiation exposure. Explains procedures to patients and answers any questions or concerns. Collects specimens for drug screens and performs Blood Alcohol Tests and CLIA-waived tests. Performs patient intake activities, including checking and recording vital signs. Provides ongoing patient assessment through observation of patient and records; reports findings accurately and on time. Assists in the development of others through guidance and teaching. Promotes professional practice of all members of the radiological services team. Responsible for monitoring and ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements, quality standards, compliance activities, and policies and procedures. Effectively manages resources such as supplies and equipment. Plans work and completes job responsibilities in an efficient and productive manner. Demonstrates professional work behavior and excellent customer service routinely in all interactions. Performs other job functions as assigned or requested.
