The account specialist primarily handles acquisition of new accounts and relationship maintenance of existing accounts. The role is responsible for analyzing and executing a plan to address the most crucial needs of each customer, while providing first-class customer care and service. The account specialist must strategize management of each of his/her accounts and set objectives for on-going communication and follow-up. This person must interact with clients and prospects on a regular basis to determine changing trends and preferences. They must proactively research the dynamics of each account, including similar industry organizations, to propose growth strategies for their clients. This position will manage conflict and determine effective negotiation and sales strategies. The account specialist may also be required to assist and provide back-up support to the customer service department with functions such as: order entry, pricing updates and customer follow-up regarding ship dates, delays, and/or other order-related information.
POSITION RESPONSIBILITIES
Perform all aspects of the account management process, including, not limited to:
•Identifying and understanding the requirements of prospects and new and current customers.
•Processing daily transactions such as quotes, orders, back-orders, RMAs, deviations, and prospect account requests.
•Establishing and nurturing long-term relationships with prospects and new and existing accounts.
