Position Summary: To provide training technical assistance for child care providers on matters related to infant and toddler aged children.
Essential Functions:
Provide professional development and technical assistance for child care providers.
Participate in the WV Infant Toddler Specialist Network (WV ITSN) initiatives.
Traverse various terrain to access visitation sites.
Remain in a stationary position 50% of the time.
Marginal Functions
Participate in practice and observations for ITERS-3 with peer annually.
Assist with collaborative visits and training experiences for infant toddler providers with the TRAILS team.
Submit requests for materials, supplies, and training resource materials.
Compile and submit reports within established timelines.
Respond to any inquiries within a timely manner.
Participate in all required committees, conferences, meetings and training relevant to the program and/or agency.
Participate in ongoing monitoring and continuous improvement activities.
Any other duties assigned.

Education
Required: Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university in early childhood, developmental psychology or child development.
Experience
Preferred: Experience with adult learning.
Required: One year of professional, paid, and documented work experience with infants and toddlers under the age of 36 months.
Employment Conditions
Successfully clearing the background check process, which may include: criminal background check, education verification, references, drug testing, motor vehicle records, sex offender registry, Child Protective Services check, and federal grants debarred list.
Valid driver's license and reliable transportation.
Able to travel extensively; requires the need for flexible scheduling, including occasional evenings and weekends.
Adhere to National Association for the Education of Youn Children (NAEYC) Code of Ethics.
Maintain STARS career pathway enrollment and STARS trainer credential.
Complete initial online training for Infant/Toddler Environment Rating Scale-revised (ITERS-R) within first (6) months of employment.
Become fully certified in the Program for Infant/Toddler (PITC) with timeline for completion per policy and procedures prior to presenting WVIT- Relationship-Based Care (WVIT II).
Complete process for West Virginia Infant/Toddler Mental Health Credential within one (1) year of PITC certification.

Step 1 with a Bachelor's Degree: $51,200 + 10% variance ($5,120)= $56,320

Position Purpose:
Providing services and support for families with children from birth to age 3 who have disabilities. Early Childhood Special Education Homebased teachers work with other disciplines to evaluate and address needs in the areas of cognition, language, motor, adaptive and social development through a coaching model. The settings for services include the home, childcare settings and other natural environments.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
Bachelor's Degree in Early Childhood Special Education or Inclusive required.
Ability to obtain and maintain a valid NE Teaching Certificate with endorsement in Early Childhood Special Education/Inclusive.
Excellent attendance record.
Professional verification of successful classroom teacher performance and/or student teaching experience.
Evidence of the willingness and ability to comply with standards for ethical and professional performance established by the State Board of Education.

Essential Performance Responsibilities
Work closely with team members to evaluate and serve children and families.
Conduct evaluations to determine eligibility for Early Intervention.
Prepare Multidisciplinary Team Reports (MDT) on Infinite Campus.
Complete Routines-Based Interviews with families to identify primary areas of concern.
Assess infants and toddlers' entry and exit data through Teaching Strategies GOLD.
Develop Individual Family Service Plans (IFSP).
Participate in MDT and IFSP meetings with team members and families.
Schedule and conduct home visits with parents/caregivers.
Coach families/caregivers to increase their confidence and competence in facilitating their child's learning and development through daily routines.
Collaborate with community agencies serving children and families.
Support toddlers with a verification of Autism in a center-based setting.
Support families as they transition to center-based settings.
Working with and understanding a diverse student population.
Plans for and guides the learning process to help children and families achieve their program objectives.
Selects and uses effective instructional methods and learning materials.
Support the ongoing curriculum development of the program.
Establishes a cooperative relationship with all assigned families.
Maintains open lines of communications with parents, guardians and staff.
Engages in professional growth activities through an ongoing program of job related knowledge and skill development.
Organizes and maintains a system for accurate and complete record-keeping and lesson planning and child progress toward IFSP goals as required by district procedures and applicable laws.
Evidence of the willingness and the ability to comply with the standards with ethical and professional performance established by district policy as well as the State Board of Education.
Works collaboratively to achieve the overall purpose of the program and support the District's vision, aims and goals.
Additional Duties
Performs other related tasks as assigned by the Central Office Administrators as designated by the Superintendent.
Equipment: This position may require the ability to use assistive technology in addition to basic office equipment such as computers, copiers, scanners, and fax machine. Must always comply with OPS's guidelines for equipment use.
Travel: Travel is required to homes & child care settings to provide IFSP services.

Employee Punctuality and Appearance
In order for schools to operate effectively, employees are expected to perform all assigned duties and work all scheduled hours during each designated workday, unless the employee has received approved leave.
Any deviation from assigned hours must have prior approval from the employee's supervisor or building administrator.
All employees are required to report to work dressed in a manner that reflects a positive image of Omaha Public Schools and is appropriate for their position.
Terms of Employment
This position is treated as a full-time exempt certified position. The terms of your employment will be governed by applicable state laws regulating employment or teaching in a Nebraska public school and Board of Education policies, as those laws and policies may change from time to time, and the Teacher Contract. If your position is represented by a collective bargaining representative, then your employment will also be governed by a negotiated agreement between OPS and that collective bargaining representative.
Terms of employment are contingent upon:
Verification of a valid Nebraska Teaching License or other required license.
A background check which demonstrates background is acceptable for the position sought and working with or around students.
Verification of U.S. Citizenship or legal authorization to work in the United States.
Successful completion of a tuberculosis skin test (if required by federal law for your position).

Under the direction of center administration, the lead teacher develops and executes individual education plans for school-age children in Kindergarten - age 12. The lead teacher ensures that the teaching team (assistant teacher and teacher aide) provides a safe and educational learning environment that incorporates evidence curriculum and the early learning coordinator weekly reviews classroom and child data and participates in all scheduled training in support of ongoing professional development.
Major Responsibilities and Tasks
Program Core Features
Provide safe transportation to and from the child's assigned school during the school year and field trips during the summer
Provide a high-quality learning environment and instructional activities
Meet with the Early Learning Coordinator weekly to review classroom and child data
Attend and participate in all scheduled trainings in support of ongoing professional development
Provide an enhanced curriculum focused on social-emotional development, language and literacy, and physical development
Self-reflects on their teaching practices and develops a continuous plan based on a self-assessment tool
Curriculum Development
Implement a program that focuses on the development of social and emotional intelligence
Positively engage with children and use appropriate Conscious Discipline methods, as outlined in CWCC's policy
Perform the functions of this position with a strong understanding of developmentally appropriate practices
Meet with assistant teacher and aide to review lesson plans and assign best teaching practices
Complete and submit required forms promptly, including but not limited to lesson plans, portfolios, assessments, observations, transition plans
Assessment
Provide ongoing observations and assessment of each child
Maintain documentation of each child's progress and growth with the support of the 40 Developmental Assets and the skills and structures of Conscious Discipline
Review and interpret assessment data to determine the needs of the classroom
Home-School Connections
Conduct two parent-teacher conferences a year to discuss each child's individual development and progress
Communicate regularly with parents utilizing such things as parent meetings and daily sheets
Interpret school programs for parents to strengthen the understanding of the child's needs and the importance of an early learning environment for the continued development of the child
Other Responsibilities
Attend staff and parent meetings, and school district coalition meetings as requested
In cooperation with other staff, complete daily cleaning duties
Carry out routine duties such as clean-up and the supervision of the children at all times
Ensure classroom materials, furniture, and supplies are properly maintained
