Overview

Responsibilities

· Writing and carrying out lesson plans that teach to a set of developmental goals

· Provide individualized instruction to each student by promoting learning through play

· Assess and record students’ progress and provide feedback to parents

· Maintain a tidy and orderly classroom

· Plan and execute educational in-class and outdoor activities and events

· Develop and enrich professional skills and knowledge by attending staff meetings and professional development days

Requirements

· Experience in early childhood education

· Knowledge of teaching best practices and legal educational guidelines partnered with a willingness to follow the school’s policies and procedures

· Excellent communicability and interpersonal skills

· Well-organized and committed

· Creative and energetic

· Strong moral values and discipline

· Knowledge of CPR

· Bachelor’s degree in early childhood education or related field (Lead Teacher)

· College coursework in early childhood education or related field (Assistant Teacher)

The basic functions of this position include providing on-going direction, support, training, and technical assistance for classroom staff in support of quality Early Childhood Education, Health and Family Services for enrolled children and families and Family Engagement practices.

Minimum requirements for this role: Bachelor’s in early childhood education (ECE), Child Development, Special Education, Early Intervention, or related field with 6 courses (18 credits) in early childhood education; Head Start, supervisory and related years of experience.

Job Requirements:

Minimum Qualifications:

• Bachelor's Degree in Early Childhood Special Education or
• B.A. or B.S. in Early Childhood Education with course work on assessment and working with children & families with disabilities AND experience working with children birth through Kindergarten with developmental delays & their families

Desired Qualifications:

• Early Intervention Experience
• Pediatric Experience (Birth - Three)
• Home Based Service Delivery Experience
• Masters in Early Childhood Special Education.
