About the Position

Job Duties
* Provides Physical Therapy treatments to overcome specific losses of function due to disease and injury, under a Physical Therapist's Plan of Care, and as dictated by the Commonwealth of Virginia Occupational Therapy Practice Act.

Focused Staffing Group is looking for a Physical Therapist to join our partner school at Washington, DC 20024! The ideal candidate will be a licensed physical therapist with professional competency as a general practitioner in physical therapy; demonstrated use of varied evaluation and treatment approaches; customer service skills for interacting with patients, including communicating with patients and family members of diverse ages and backgrounds; and effective communication.

Completes appropriate discharge planning and follow-up care. Demonstrates effective time management and meets productivity expectations. Manage an accurate schedule. Our patient population consists of Medical/Surgical patients who have suffered disabling conditions requiring acute, inpatient physical rehabilitation. Common diagnoses can include: CVA, amputees, bilateral total joint replacements, spinal cord injury, multiple trauma, traumatic brain injury, and neurologic diagnoses such as Parkinson's disease, guillian barré, multiple sclerosis, etc. The IRC uses multidisciplinary nursing, medical, and therapy care to meet the individual needs of each patient.

Qualifications
Purpose & Scope:
The Occupational Therapist functions within their professions standard of practice.
