Day Nursery was founded in 1899 by the Hope Circle of the King’s Daughters Society.
In 2007, parents, educators, nonprofits, health professionals, community, and business leaders came together to focus on the first five years of life and the importance of quality early learning opportunities in our community.
Since 2009, the Community Foundation has invested $2 million in early childhood education initiatives in Monroe County:
In 2014, Day Nursery changed its name to Early Learning Indiana, and our early childhood centers became known as Day Early Learning centers.
Over 22,000 children and families have received age-appropriate books and developmental resources since 2016.
