Overall Purpose Using expert-level experience, this position is a technical expert involved in troubleshooting, identifying, solutioning, and proof of concepts to solve difficult workplace technology issues. In conjunction with the Sr Director of Client computing and Architecture, this role will contribute, and potentially drive the strategy and standards of Early Warning client computing, workplace and collaboration platforms and ensures excellence of installation and administration. This role is hands-on, working with other individuals and teams to provide support to trouble-shoot and solution critical cross-platform issues that impact effective user experience, alignment to Enterprise Infrastructure, Security, and sustainability of solutions. Essential Functions Identify and solve for the most impactful issues in the organization and partner with other organization teams to create both short-term and long-term solutions. Provides continuous improvement in the operational processes by introducing more innovation and automation. Collaborate with team members and leadership to execute strategic goals and objectives. Partner in defining longer term plans, priorities, and goals. Identify opportunities to improve efficiencies, streamline process and implement best practices. Work with peers and other departments in the architecture, infrastructure, and security groups in defining roadmaps, setting goals, and providing updates. Engage actively across IT as an expert technical resource, mentor, and principal advisor Research, implement and maintain new technology that provides value to department and company. Work closely with management to ensure that quality, budgetary, and regulatory requirements are being successfully monitored and met across the Client Computing team. Support the company's commitment to risk management and protecting the integrity and confidentiality of systems and data. Minimum Qualifications Education and experience typically obtained through completion of a Bachelor's degree in Computer Information Systems/Computer Science Minimum 10 years' progressive direct or related experience Proven relevant industry experience and a proven track record of expertise in the management of end user technology with a demonstrated progression of responsibilities. Demonstrated ability to lead through influencing and facilitating cross-functional teaming to realize outcomes. Excellent written and verbal communication skills with an ability to communicate at all levels of the organization. A senior staff engineer must set architectural standards for multiple teams. * Experience in designing and developing reusable mobile platform components, frameworks, and SDKs that can be leveraged across multiple product teams to enhance scalability, consistency, and maintainability. * Experience in the development of scalable, distributed systems is essential, but with a mobile-centric perspective. This includes designing robust APIs and understanding the complexities of mobile-to-backend communication, including offline-first and event-driven architectures (Pub/Sub, Kafka). * Strong working experience with mobile infrastructure and developer tooling, including modern CI/CD pipelines (e.g., Fastlane, Bitrise, GitHub Actions), automated testing, and build/release systems. * Working knowledge of AWS cloud infrastructure, particularly as it pertains to mobile services like push notifications, authentication, and backend-as-a-service. * Experience with mobile security principles, secure coding, and vulnerability mitigation. A senior staff engineer is accountable for protecting the integrity and confidentiality of systems and user data. * Exceptional ability to influence and lead technical direction within and between multiple engineering teams. This includes mentoring senior and staff-level engineers and resolving cross-organizational technical conflicts. * Active ownership of the long-term health of mobile platforms, including performance, security, and scalability. Additionally, candidates are eligible for a discretionary incentive plan and benefits.
