No training. No management/incorrect management for the type of store. Inconsistent hours.
No longer exist.
None.
There is nothing to like. The best of those encountered were two-faced and would throw you under the bus without hesitation if it made them look better to their higher ups.
Replace the management team, bring in a professional team to implement training at all levels.
I walked in. My local Earth Fare is so short staffed as long as you can pass a drug screen, you will be hired. This, combined with a nearly 75% turnover rate.
20% off Fantastic coworkers Flexibility Work (in prepared foods) is enjoyable Little to no food waste
As someone else said, management & corporate is EXTREMELY out of touch. They have ridiculous requests that significantly bog everyone down and put everyone on edge. Sometimes I have to stay several hours late to finish tasks as no one else is around to do them. Some days, there are way too many employees in my dept. Others one person works completely alone & gets swamped. The teens who live with their parents take all the hours + work and us who need the money to survive can’t pick any up. Management hires too many people for one department and not enough for another. Never properly stocked, always running out of things AND being talked to for a lack of prepared foods being out on shelves, despite a lack of ingredients in the first place. All equipment is extremely old and outdated, and in some cases dangerous. The sheer amount of plastic used is absurd! Same with other non-biodegradable items, despite being a healthy eco-friendly store.
Being able to take home B-grade/unsellable items. Love me some fresh but ugly food.
The management on a store/department level is really great. CEO & salaried individuals… Not so much. Profit margins are insane, and us on the bottom see none of it.
The “culture” in my store is great; however it would be much better if there were better behavior policies enforced for customers. They are exceedingly rude and sometimes outright racist and/or sexist, and are still “valued customers” despite this.
I researched my position’s specialty and, as I work in prepared foods, brought a small portfolio of previous work (non-professional) to show.
Compensation is generally average.
Diversity is great and there are plenty of people from different backgrounds. It shows that management in my store hires based on skill, as everyone in my department is skilled at their work and cares about it.
I enjoy making people happy, aside from rude customers. I love making food to share with people and getting to see them enjoy it. I love being able to hang out with coworkers too, and managers have no issue with it as long as work quality does not decrease. They are pretty reasonable about it, though corporate is not.
