Contributions
* Delivers exceptional customer service and prepares food in all areas including deli, juice bar, pizza/sandwich, and hot bar.
* Maintains an attractive sales floor by implementing Earth Fare merchandising guidelines as outlined by the Food Service Manager. Verifies proper signage and pricing of items in the department.
* Maintains cleanliness, sanitation, and overall organization of the department including all fixtures, storage, workstations, freezers, and coolers.
Helpful and Preferred Knowledge and Experience
* Previous experience with food preparation/cooking in a restaurant, bakery or catering environment preferred.

Receives and inspects deli shipments. Displays, stocks, rotate, and stores deli products following food safety, food freshness, and product handling policies and procedures.
Ensures that all products are fresh and meet company quality standards. Checks for out-of-date products daily and follows appropriate product salvage policies and procedures.
Ensures deli cooler shelves and deli display cases have a wide variety of product. Stocks and rotates deli items when necessary.
Operates and handles deli equipment in accordance with safety policies and procedures.
Cleans and sanitizes deli equipment and food surfaces throughout the department, including rotisserie ovens, cooking utensils, refrigerated cases, and the deli cooler.
Ensures scale systems are in working order. Makes sure items are weighed and priced accurately.
Maintains all club policies and procedures.
Performs other duties as assigned, including working in other departments as needed.

Qualifications
Work experience in a deli department preferred.
Prior experience operating manual/power slicers and scales preferred.

To check the case, cooler, freezer temperature 3 times daily
Use maintenance and product transportation equipment, manipulate equipment handles, and grasp doorknobs.
Handle case cutter and utility knife.
Grasp and handle wet, iced, cold, hot, metal, paper, plastic material.
Handle cash and coins.
Move stocking carts, pallet jacks (up to 300 lbs.) and maintenance equipment
Climb on ladders, racks, cases, shelving, and stairs.
Perceive color difference of merchandise
Respond to all guest, teammate, and vendor questions, intercom and phone calls, and the sound of case cutter, department production equipment, baler, pallet jack, and cleaning equipment operation "noises".
Read case labels, strips, signs, tags, shelf signs, code dates, invoices, temperature gauges, reports, numbers, equipment, chemical, and aisle markers
Qualifications: Required:
Must be 18 or older
Must be 18 years or older to operate the pallet jack, baler, smoker, slicer, steam table, oven, and fryer
Basic mathematical ability (add, subtract, multiply, divide, and count)
Able to give and receive complex verbal instructions or descriptions to and from supervisors and teammates concerning store or department policy and procedures, and use of equipment.
The ability to read and write English. Able to read instructions, labels, printed paper and forms.
Good interpersonal communications.
