APTIM is seeking a Junior Environmental Scientist, but will consider an entry level candidate, in the Atlanta, GA area, on a full-time basis, in primary support of our stormwater compliance program. There will also be opportunities to participate in a variety of other environmental compliance support tasks, including but not limited to, solid waste, hazardous materials, hazardous waste, aboveground storage tanks, spill prevention, DOT and RCRA compliance, site assessment and remediation, and/or environmental data management. The successful candidate will be experienced in supporting an environmental team. This position will require travel to client facilities to conduct stormwater inspection/sampling activities, environmental compliance reviews and/or gather related data. Key Responsibilities/Accountabilities: Collecting environmental samples in the field and preparing and preserving samples for delivery to an analytical laboratory. As experience is gained, motivated candidates will have the opportunity to become Team Leads and/or take on additional responsibilities coordinating assessment work activities for a wide variety of clients and preparing documentation related to the results of the assessments. Successful candidates can also participate in a variety of other environmental compliance support tasks, such as hazardous waste, hazardous materials, aboveground storage tanks, spill prevention, and DOT and RCRA compliance. The successful candidate will be experienced in supporting an environmental team. **Key Responsibilities/Accountabilities:** + **Waste Composition Assessments** + Sort solid waste into material categories including plastics, paper, cardboard, food waste, regulated waste, etc. + Use hand tools to sort waste and ability to lift and move items 30 pounds or less. + Willingness to travel with the team to transfer stations, landfills, and client sites.
