East Bay Asian Local Development Corporation (EBALDC) is seeking to hire (1) full-time Custodian Technician at California Hotel located in Oakland, CA. Summary: Under the direction of the Maintenance Supervisor or his/her designee and Property Manager, the Custodial Technician performs skilled and semi-skilled tasks in the cleaning of rental units, common area facilities, and grounds, and other work as required to protect the marketability of the site. The Custodial Technician should take the initiative to implement and/or maintain a cleaning schedule to keep emergencies to a minimum and the site in good condition.     Job Description About EBALDC For almost 20 years, EBALDC has been developing and refining a range of asset building programs that complement our housing services, including free tax preparation, individual development accounts (IDAs), youth financial literacy, and financial counseling. One of our longest lasting programs is our IRS-supported Volunteer Income Tax Assistance (VITA) services, which integrates a Savings Initiative and financial counseling and coaching into its model. Every year, VITA programs across the country help millions of low to moderate income (LMI) individuals and families file their taxes for free, liberating them from predatory preparation practices that lower their returns. By providing this service to the community, we bring income back into the pockets of Bay Area residents and help them plan for the future. Since EBALDC began providing VITA services in 2003, we've grown assist almost 14,000 LMI individuals and families claim more than $20 million in tax refunds including approximately $9 million in Earned Income Tax Credits (EITC). In 2025, our sites completed 1,100+ tax returns. Position Summary The VITA Site Coordinator will lead EBALDC's VITA overall program. The role includes facilitating and leading tax trainings, managing volunteers, leading site operations, supporting tax assistance, and ensuring proper document compliance and reporting. No tax knowledge is required and training is provided. Schedule: Full Time/ 37.5 hours per week Key Duties and Responsibilities Manage Daily Site Operations Oversee tax preparation by volunteers, ensuring all tax preparers maintain certification, provide good customer service, and maintain a friendly atmosphere. Manage day-to-day VITA site, ensure site is open as scheduled, is adequately staffed, and room is set up. Ensure that equipment such as laptops and tax files are secured at all times. Ensure that site is following appropriate policies and procedures for confidentiality, data releases and data security. Provide Tax Assistance and Ensure Quality Services Assist clients and volunteers with tax returns. Ensure tax returns are accurate via the quality review process. Act as the e-file administrator. Position Summary The Senior Resident Services Coordinator (SRSC) plays a key leadership role in supporting residents at the historic California Hotel. This position requires demonstrated experience working with formerly homeless individuals, people with mental health challenges, and other vulnerable populations, ensuring residents are treated with dignity and respect while maintaining healthy boundaries. The SRSC will act as a bridge between EBALDC residents, Property Management, and third-party service providers-including onsite case management partners, the County of Alameda, and the Alameda County Food Bank. The SRSC will provide direct resident support, build community engagement, coordinate services, and foster collaborative partnerships that strengthen housing stability and build a resilient community for all residents. By providing this service to the community, we bring income back into the pockets of Bay Area residents and help them plan for the future. Every year, VITA programs across the country help millions of low to moderate income (LMI) individuals and families file their taxes for free, liberating them from predatory preparation practices that lower their returns. By providing this service to the community, we bring income back into the pockets of Bay Area residents and help them plan for the future. Since EBALDC began providing VITA services in 2003, we've grown assist almost 14,000 LMI individuals and families claim more than $20 million in tax refunds including approximately $9 million in Earned Income Tax Credits (EITC). In 2025, our sites completed 1,100+ tax returns. Position Summary The VITA Site Coordinator will lead EBALDC's VITA overall program. The role includes facilitating and leading tax trainings, managing volunteers, leading site operations, supporting tax assistance, and ensuring proper document compliance and reporting.
