Essential Functions
* Provides uniformed patrol by automobile, 4-wheel drive, ATV, motorcycle, boat, helicopter, horseback or on foot;
* Provides information to the public regarding park lands and facilities;
* Assists park visitors and other park employees;
* Contacts citizens and employees regarding any matter concerning public safety and welfare;
* Answers radio calls and self-initiates all types of police services;
* Investigates traffic accidents and takes injury reports;
* Enforces all laws and ordinances, issuing warnings and citations, making arrests when necessary;
* Investigates criminal offenses;
* Writes detailed and accurate reports;
* Prepares cases for court and testifies as necessary;
* Performs rescue work and administers first aid when needed; reports fires and provides traffic and crowd control;
* Works days, nights or holidays, and in adverse weather conditions;
* Performs any other duties necessary and required for the safety and protection of the citizens and employees within the Regional Parks and other assigned patrol areas.
Minimum Qualifications
Certification:Lateral applicants must possess a valid State of California Peace Officer Standard and Training (POST) Basic Certificate.Applicant must be able to show proof of successful completion of the California POST agency-specific field training program. Academy graduation alone (with no field experience) will not suffice for the Lateral position. If you do not meet the certification or experience requirement, you can apply for the Academy Graduate or Recruit/Attendee positions.
Citizenship: Applicant must be a citizen of the United States, or, a permanent resident alien who is eligible for and has applied for citizenship within 3 years from date of employment; and
Age:Must be at least 21 years of age; and
Education: High School graduation or passage of General Education Development Test (GED), and successful completion of at least 24 semester or 36 quarter units of college level courses. For purposes of this requirement, credit will be given for units recognized by POST in the completion of a Basic POST training course through an accredited institution or agency;and
Experience: A Lateral applicant (must meet one of the following standards):
Standard 1a: Must be currently working as a police officer in a California POST agency; or
Standard 2a: Has worked in the job classification within three (3) years of application; or
Standard 3a: Has completed a POST Requalification Course within three (3) years of application;and

THE OPPORTUNITY:
The Park District is currently recruiting for a Sanitation Systems Maintenance Workerlocated at the Park District's South County Trades Yard in Castro Valley. The hiring pools established from this recruitment will be used to fill the current vacancies and additional vacancies that may occur during the one-year life of the hiring pools.
WHAT YOU'LL BE DOING:
Under general supervision, drives large sanitation pump-out trucks on rounds throughout the regional parks and performs related site labor to collect and dispose of sewage from chemical toilets, tanks and septic tanks; and performs related duties as assigned.
IDEAL CANDIDATE:
The ideal candidate is a motivated, dependable team player with strong knowledge of sewage collection systems. They will have proven experience installing, maintaining, and repairing septic systems, holding tanks, and leach fields.
The successful applicant will safely and efficiently operate sanitation trucks and related heavy equipment, performing routine inspections, complying with applicable regulations, and maintaining awareness of vehicle limitations and site conditions. Additionally, this individual will also be proficient with digital tools for job execution, reporting, and documentation, along with clear and effective communication skills when working with coworkers, supervisors, and the public. Most importantly, they will have a strong commitment to safety, demonstrated through sound judgment and effective risk-mitigation practices in all driving, equipment operation, and performing fieldwork in potentially hazardous environments.
Essential Functions
* Drives on city streets, highways, maintained park roads, fire roads, and semi-maintained park accesses to properly collect and dispose of sewage and garbage;
* Cleans and stocks chemical toilets;
* Locates broken and clogged sewer lines;
* Repairs and rebuilds septic tanks and leach fields;
* Assists in the installation of septic systems;
* Ensures tank trucks are clean and in proper operating condition, including arranging for scheduled and emergency service;
* Performs emergency repairs for in-field breakdowns;
* Maintains and develops records, tallies, and reports, including minor administrative work to document completed tasks;
* Serves as lead worker to support position; and performs related duties as required.
Minimum Qualifications
Education: Equivalent to completion of the twelfth grade;
AND
Experience: Three (3) years of experience operating a variety of large trucks.
License: A valid California Class B driver's license, including the tanker and air brake endorsement is a condition of initial and continued employment in this classification.

SUMMARY DESCRIPTION

A Police Trainee is a temporary, non-sworn position. Under close supervision, a Trainee participates in a comprehensive training program at a POST approved Police Academy for a period of approximately 5 months. Start your career in law enforcement with the City of Antioch! TRAINEE SALARY (While Attending the Academy) is $31.80/hour plus medical, vision, and dental benefits.
After successful completion of the Police Academy, and you transition to a sworn Police Officer, and APOA Bargaining Unit Member, the salary increases to an ANNUAL SALARY OF $115,608 - $140,532 plus additional benefits.

The PELLETB is the police written test used by most agencies in California. PELLETB stands for "POST Entry Level Law Enforcement Test Battery" and is the entry-level Written Exam recommended by the CA POST Commission. There you will be able to learn more about the exam process along with how to prepare for the test by downloading the Applicant Preparation Guide. If you have already competed the PELLETB test and have a passing score of 45 or higher, you may attach the transferable T-Score on the agency issuing letterhead (we have the right to refuse non-letterhead scores).

SUMMARY DESCRIPTION
Under close supervision participates in a comprehensive training program at a POST approved police academy. This temporary class provides an opportunity for persons to achieve the academic and physical training required for appointment to the position of Police Officer. Appointment in this position is generally limited to the duration of the Police Academy. Academic progress and physical achievement are closely monitored during this training period. Upon successful completion and graduation from the Police Academy, trainees may be appointed to the position of probationary Police Officer. However, successful completion of the Police Academy and this training program does not provide for automatic appointment. Extension beyond the academy period may only be made upon express authorization of the Chief of Police
EMPLOYMENT CONDITIONS
Police Trainees are temporary employees assigned to the Police Department. Temporary employees are paid on an hourly basis and are not entitled to any of the fringe benefits applicable to regular employment. Temporary employment is subject to termination without appeal for any of the following reasons:
* Failure to show acceptable progress while attending the Police Academy.
* Failure to follow departmental rules, regulations or safety procedures.
* Are found to be unacceptable for further employment.
* Are no vacant positions of Police Officer.
City will furnish tuition costs, uniforms, safety equipment and materials required at the Police Academy.

LICENSE OR CERTIFICATE:
A valid California Motor Vehicle Operator's License and a satisfactory driving record are a condition of hire and of continued employment. A satisfactory driving record is one absent of misdemeanor convictions or multiple infraction convictions. Loss of a driver's license and/or an unsatisfactory driving record may result in employee discipline, up to and including termination.
CRIMINAL RECORD:
Trainees shall not have been convicted of any felony. A misdemeanor conviction may result in applicant disqualification and employee disciplinary action, up to and including termination. A complete background investigation will be conducted.

Seasonal Hiring Workshop: March 29, 2026
All candidates who pass the swim test are HIGHLY ENCOURAGED to attend a seasonal hiring workshop that will take place on March 29, 2026 at Roberts Pool. The workshop will provide an opportunity to take care of pre-employment background processes such as medical examinations, TB test, and LiveScan fingerprinting. Candidates who do not attend this workshop will be responsible for completing these steps on their own. Candidates who do not complete the background steps will not move forward in the recruitment process.
Lifeguard Academy:New Lifeguard candidates are required to participate in the Lifeguard Academy. The Academy is conducted at various District Facilities in the East Bay area. Upon successful completion of the Lifeguard Academy, continued employment as a Lifeguard will be conditional based on District needs. Recreation Aide:

Experience: Must have completed at least one (1) season of recent experience comparable to a Recreation Aide with East Bay Regional Park District.

Essential Functions
* Plans, develops, implements, and evaluates assigned risk management and occupational health and safety programs, services and activities including comprehensive insurance programs, risk reduction, accident prevention, loss control, self-insured liability, workers' compensation claims, safety compliance, and emergency response programs designed to prevent injury, occupational illness and damage to property within the Risk Management Department

* Examines alternative risk management or loss control techniques; designs and implements risk management and mitigation measures and techniques
* Monitors the effectiveness of techniques implemented
* Develops and conducts District-wide risk management and occupational health and safety training and education programs; serves as a technical resource for Park District management and the Board
* Reviews property, casualty, workers' compensation, disability, and self-administered liability claims
* Monitors claim activity
* Interfaces with appropriate parties for claim resolution
* Participates in and coordinates case strategy development, evaluations, and settlement negotiations in coordination with General Counsel
* Assists in overseeing the workplace accommodations and light duty program, administers and manages the Return-to-Work Program, coordinates return-to-work activities with department management and medical providers to ensure appropriateness of assignments and work limitations;administers, manages and coordinates the District's Department of Motor Vehicles (DMV) Employer Pull Notice (EPN) Program
* Serves as a Park District representative to outside agencies, organizations, contractors and the public
* Serves as a subject matter expert on a variety of internal committees, work groups, and task forces
* May present to, or prepare material for, the General Manager and/or Board of Directors
* Establish and maintain positive working relationships with individuals, service providers, public and private agencies and others to ensure that programs and activities are responsive to Park District needs; and performs other duties as assigned.
Minimum Qualifications
Education:Equivalent to a bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university in risk management, business or public administration, occupational safety or a related field;
AND
Experience:Five years (5) of full-time experience in the administration of a comprehensive risk management, loss control, industrial hygiene, or occupational health and safety program, including two (2) years in a supervisory capacity.
License or Certificate:Possession of a valid Class C California Driver's License and demonstrate the ability to travel to various Park District locations in a timely manner as required in the performance of duties is a condition of initial and continued employment.

CAMP MANAGER: OUTDOOR EDUCATION & SPECIALTY CAMPS (Community Services Specialist IV) Wage: $18.73/hour Status: Temporary part-time (no benefits, paid for all hours worked) Minimum Age Requirement: Applicants must be at least 18 years of age or have education equivalent to completion of high school.
Under the supervision of the Program Coordinator, the Camp Manager is responsible for overseeing the daily operations of their assigned camp, including (but not limited to):
* Travel weekly to each assigned camp to conduct check-ins with all staff, volunteers, and participant parents
* Provide support to camp staff and volunteers as needed
* Preparing staff and camp schedules
* Managing camper rosters
* Inventorying, shopping for, and replenishing food, camp equipment, and supplies at each camp location
* Work alongside local vendors to arrange quality programs and activities
Programs Camp Manager Oversees:
* Camp Putah (Day camp with one overnight a week, in Davis)
* Trekkers (Overnight camping trips, across the state)
* Backyard Adventures (Day camp, in Davis)
* Summer Sampler (Day camp, in Davis)
* Horse Camp (Vendor led, in Davis)
* Other Recreation vendor programs
Camp Volunteer Responsibilities:
The Camp Manager is responsible for the Outdoor Education Volunteers. The Camp Manager will advertise the volunteer program, interview candidates, work with the Volunteer Coordinator to collect and oversee volunteer paperwork, train volunteers, and supervise and support volunteers throughout the duration of summer.
Timeline of Job:
The Camp Manager will work approximately 10-15 hours per week during the months of March - mid-May. These hours are flexible. The Camp Manager will work 30-40 hours per week from mid-May through early September. Summer Camps begin June 15 and run through August 21.
Typical work hours during the Summer Camp season:
Monday - Friday:
* 7:00am as needed to support Senior Leaders
* 7:30-8:00am (sometimes 9:00am) to 3:00/4:00pm
* Camp Putah operates overnight from Thursday at 8:00am to Friday at 12:00pm. The Camp Manager will often work on Thursday evenings until 7:00 - 9:00pm (not every week) and will adjust their schedule to accommodate for these late nights.
* Occasional support on Sundays for Trekkers program 'prep' day. Not needed in office but available if Trekkers staff need assistance over the phone or in person.
Other Responsibilities:
* Collaborate with administrative and camp staff for all camp logistics
* Conduct staff and volunteer evaluations with Program Coordinator
* Supervise staff and volunteers
* Ensure equipment and facilities are safe and in good operation
* Communicate with camper parents regarding camp details and logistics
* Maintain accurate and detailed financial records and work within a budget
* Possibly tow canoes in city vehicle for camp activities
Minimum Qualifications:
* Possess a valid California Driver's License and have own vehicle (mileage for travel will be reimbursed)
* Current certification in Standard First Aid and CPR before the start of programs
* Experience overseeing large youth program groups
* Experience supervising staff and volunteers
* Knowledge of summer camp programs, camping, outdoor excursions, and outdoor recreation skills
* Knowledge of best practices in youth development, including behavior management and positive role modeling
* Ability to demonstrate strong skills in leadership and team building
* Ability to provide strong internal and external customer service
* Ability to communicate effectively with parents, children, camp staff, and other City employees
* Ability to display good judgment, problem solving and critical thinking skills
* Must be able to complete a list of other required online trainings prior to the start of the program, including but not limited to: Concussion Training, Blood Borne Pathogens, Mandated Reporter, Sudden Cardiac Arrest, Heat Illness, Prevention of Harassment and Discrimination.
Physical/Sensory Requirements: Staff should be prepared to work outdoors, in various environmental conditions each week. The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this position. Work is done both indoors and out, with exposure to heat, often over 100 degrees, sun, noise, dust, pollens and slip hazards when near water. Potential for exposure to blood borne pathogens when rendering first aid.

Essential Functions
Greets visitors; opens up the kiosk for daily operation; collects park fees, provides accurate change, issues receipts, and accurately maintains deposit logs and accounts for all revenue collected during the shift; maintains inventories of necessary supplies; responds to visitor questions and assists park users, including providing brochures, giving directions, taking reservations, and conveying park rules and regulations; communicates with staff and public safety officials during emergencies; conducts litter pick-up surrounding kiosk; opens parking and swimming areas; reports public hazards; and performs related duties as assigned.
Minimum Qualifications
Age:15 ½ or older at the time of appointment.
Experience: None.
Other: Bilingual or multi-lingual skills are highly desirable. Administrative and cash handling skills are highly desirable.
Conditions of Employment:
* Must pass a Level 1 background check.
* Required to wear a Park District uniform.
* May be required to work unusual hours, weekends, and holidays.
* May be required to work alone in the kiosk for extended periods of time between visitors and/or in inclement weather.
* Gate Attendants are required to work 1 season with a minimum of 350 hours before progressing to the next pay step.
