This position serves as the primary liaison between employers, educational institutions, community organizations, economic development entities, and government agencies to address labor market needs and build a skilled workforce pipeline. The position also requires administrative, programmatic and service obligations needed for the delivery of Workforce Innovation and Opportunity Act (WIOA) funds allocated to the West Central Arkansas Workforce Development Area, workforce development initiatives, and related programs. Essential Job Functions: Serves as Administrator for the West Central Arkansas Workforce Development Board. Complies with the needs and goals of the Local Workforce Development Plan. Identifies appropriate individuals to support West Central Arkansas Workforce Development Board committees. Develops, implements, and modifies department policies and procedures as directed by the Workforce Board, the Planning and Development District, the State of Arkansas, and the U.S. Department of Labor. Secures funding through grants, partnerships, and public-private collaborations. Identifies opportunities for collaboration between workforce development, economic development and education. Duties and Responsibilities of a Lead Instructor: Oversee curriculum and all class schedules Approves class activities/topics/curriculum/materials needed for classes in addition to other educational/engaging activities, along with getting input from ADDT Instructors, volunteers and prevocational production instructors Assign, train, and oversee data monitors daily for accuracy and timeliness Give input to instructors on creative ways to teach skills/test skills for data purposes Participate in client assessments, planning, and assessments for the purpose of developing a program plan designed to meet the needs and wants of clients in their daily lives as written in the ITP Break and lunch duty to ensure the safety and well-being of participants Responsible for maintaining required 1/10 ratios within the classroom setting Work closely with case managers with client behavior issues Works directly with clients in classroom, directs and participates in all instructional activities Turns in data at the end of each week, weekly lesson plans for the following week with attendance and billing hours for each client for the previous week.
