Proactively communicates with gift shop manager or assistant manager regarding issues with customers or operational problems and trains and supervises evening and week-end volunteers. Assists in maintaining the stock room, pricing merchandise, and restocking merchandise and assists in maintaining displays and general order and appearance of merchandise to encourage sales. Accurately and efficiently receives and handles telephone orders, and assures timely delivery of telephone orders. Represents Children's Hospital to the community and promotes the hospital's mission and initiatives and represents the department and gift shop throughout the hospital, promoting effective and appropriate volunteer service which make efficient and effective use of volunteer skills and time. Develops and cultivates positive relationships with customers and supports strategies to expand the gift shop's service excellence and service to patients, families, visitors and staff. Collaborates with all customers, internal and external, to support excellence in retail operations as a vital part of the delivery of care and continuously demonstrates a positive attitude within the department and gift shop and across departmental lines to assure excellence in the customer service program.
