At the East West College of the Healing Arts, the desire is to educate and enrich the communities of Oregon through the science of massage. Students will become involved in comprehensive academics and technical training that will prepare them to take the national and state massage board exams. Professional School of Massage and Bodywork within the college provides an 800-hour Massage Therapy program. This includes two elective courses to help give students a well-rounded education in the healing arts. Admissions are open to students who are at least 18 years old and have a high school diploma or GED. Students must be able to perform and receive massage on a daily basis. To apply students will submit an application and fee as well as proof of graduation, and then meet with an admissions representative for a personal interview. Students will also take an entrance exam to determine their eligibility to benefit from the program. Tuition options include two payment plans. Program Students are committed to completion of the entire program, however Independent Students may pay as they go. Financial aid is also available in forms like Pell grants and loan programs. To check your eligibility for aid, complete a FAFSA and plan to meet with a financial aid manager to discuss additional options. Student life beyond the campus is open for adventure and entertainment. The campus is located in Portland, which is known for its variety and excitement and its diverse entertainment options from wind surfing to wine tasting.
