The Parent Educator supports the program, staff and parent(s) of enrolled children in topics such as: parenting education, child development, community resources and home visits. The Parent Educator must have good interpersonal skills including listening, a non-judgmental approach, and compassion. This position carries half time caseload of home-based program. PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES * Implements the Parents as Teachers (PAT) model, emphasizing parent-child interaction, development centered parenting, and family well-being in their work with families. * Provide weekly 90-minute home visits with each family within the child's home or agreed upon location. As member of Early Childhood Initiatives, the Early Childhood Education Specialist provides effective planning, instructional support, coaching and technical assistance to public/private early childhood programs to enhance the quality of services for children and families. This role requires the ability to work with diverse teams in a developmentally appropriate manner, while providing culturally responsive professional learning opportunities in northeastern Connecticut and with other learning partners throughout the state. Essential Tasks & Duties: * Develops and maintains partnerships with school district personnel and early care programs. * Provide consulting support to school systems in the areas of early childhood instruction, curriculum development, learning experience plans, assessment, and data driven decision-making. * Develop and facilitate professional learning experiences for early childhood educators. * Participate in collaborative training initiatives as assigned. * Provide support to programs around continuous quality improvement. * Facilitate and support a collaborative, problem-solving process with early childhood educators (individually or in groups). * Coach early childhood educators and teams. * Promote an anti-bias and equity-driven approach to early childhood education. * Manage multiple initiatives at the same time. * Work collaboratively with various stakeholders. Ability to work collaboratively with diverse teams in various settings. * Ability to develop and facilitate a continuum of professional learning using a variety of delivery models including in-person, virtual, synchronous, asynchronous or blended. * Demonstrated depth of knowledge in: * Developmentally appropriate, evidence-based practice * CT Early Learning Development Standards * Cycle of intentional teaching & reflective practice * Observation and formative assessment * Progress monitoring * Comprehensive evaluation in the early childhood setting NAEYC standards * Culturally responsive practices * Principals of adult learning * Instructional coaching in early childhood setting * Early Childhood Assessment Tools Qualifications: Bachelor's Degree in Early Childhood Education or related field. Master's Degree and current early childhood certification preferred. Early Childhood Initiatives is open to working with an early childhood professional that can grow and be supported to fulfill the role described, with at least five years' work experience in the field of early childhood education. Knowledge of early childhood programs, principles, and procedures including Licensing Regulations, Head Start Performance Standards and School Readiness requirements. Requires the ability to utilize computer systems and software necessary to perform position functions. EASTCONN operates a Clinical, Developmental and Therapeutic (CDT) program in Willimantic, Connecticut serving grades K-12. This program is designed for students who need a highly structured, supportive, therapeutic environment in order to achieve academic and behavioral success. We are recruiting for full-time ABA Instructors to provide 1:1 support to children with autism and related disabilities. These positions will support professional staff working directly with students, both within our CDT program and also to assist local public schools within the EASTCONN region. Multi-level evening classes will meet on Monday and Wednesdays evenings for 2.5 hr/session. The successful candidate will preferably have prior experience teaching ELL in Adult Education programs and be well versed in multicultural and differentiated learning. Experience working in a technology-rich classroom setting preferred. He/she must be able to engage the students in meaningful instruction, developing personalized, high-interest lessons. Bachelor's degree required, as well as CT Adult Education ESL certified or certifiable (# 088 endorsement). Flexibility to work at multiple sites preferred.
