In 1990 Fred Yuen founded Eastek International Corporation near Chicago, IL, to source electronic sub-assemblies and transformers from Taiwan and Hong Kong to the US market.
In 1991 Eastek Holdings LLC was founded as a trading company.
In 2001, Eastek opened its Dongguan Eastek (DG Eastek) facility for injection mold manufacturing, molding, and electronic assembly.
In 2004, Eastek and its Hong Kong and China subsidiaries were acquired by Draupnir, LLC. Over time these entities were combined into one China WOFE (wholly-owned foreign enterprise), two Hong Kong entities, and one US entity.
In 2006, Eastek expanded the DG Eastek site to a total of 465,000 sq. ft. manufacturing campus and acquired seven injection molding machines.
In 2007, Eastek formed a joint venture with Phillips-Medisize (PMC), formerly Phillips Plastics, to create an injection tool manufacturing company (“Wah Tsun”) in Hong Kong and operating within Eastek’s China factory campus.
In 2009, Eastek began Quality Management System investment to achieve US FDA 21CFR820 manufacturing compliance.
To add ISO 8 cleanroom molding, further investments by both parties brought ownership to 70% Eastek, 30% PMC as of July 2010.
In 2010, Eastek received its wholly-owned foreign enterprise (WOFE) license from the Guangdong provincial government.
In 2012, Eastek added an ISO 8 cleanroom for all PCB SMT assembly in DG Eastek.
In 2013, Eastek acquired Automated Circuit Technology, Inc. located in Menomonee Falls, Wisconsin.
In 2017 Eastek and Phillips Medisize dissolved the joint venture.
On October 1, 2019, Eastek expanded into Malaysia…Eastek International Corp. purchased the assets of Adaptive Micro Systems (Malaysia) Snd Bhd, a manufacturer of electronic circuit boards and assemblies, as part of its strategy to expand its global manufacturing footprint.
Eastek Celebrates 30 Years of Service 2020 In 2020, Eastek entered its 30th year.
On March 9, 2021, Eastek expanded into Mexico…Eastek International Corp. partnered with Entrada Group to establish the new facility at their manufacturing campus in central Mexico.
