Operate company trucks on public roads to transport, load and unload material to EMS customers

Inspect vehicle and required equipment to determine safe operating conditions prior to departure

Wear safety equipment when handling material

Qualifications:
Class "B" CDL driver's license
Preferably 3 years of experience
No more than one major traffic violation within the past 5 years

Operates a truck with capacities greater than 3 tons, including tractor-trailer combinations, to transport and deliver steel products
Performs required daily vehicle inspections and monthly checklist to ensure that mechanical, safety, and emergency equipment is in good working order
Reports vehicle defects, accidents, traffic violations, or damage to the vehicles
Maneuvers trucks into loading or unloading positions, following signals from loading crew and checking that vehicle and loading equipment are properly positioned
Secures cargo for transport using ropes, blocks, chain, binders, or covers
Inspects securement devices (chains, straps, tie-downs) for defects
Inspects material placed on truck for defects before and after trips
Maintains inspection paperwork and documentation relating to accidents or material defects
Follows a pre-determined schedule of pickup and delivery

Here's what is needed to be successful:
Ability to operate a clutch pedal
Ability to operate a tractor trailer for up to 10 consecutive hours
Knowledge of and ability to comply with all D.O.T and FMCSR requirements as well as applicable state laws
Class A CDL License and one year of driving experience, steel hauling required
Ability to climb on and off the semi-trailer as needed
