This position will work with both local and remote design teams to lead the execution of Electrical Engineering scope of work. As the Electrical Design Engineer, you will be responsible for overseeing and executing the Electrical Engineering scope for various large capital projects during Pre-FEED, FEED, and Detail Design phases to ensure their successful completion. Location: Kingsport, TN • Develop and implement project-specific Electrical Engineering execution plan to ensure efficient and effective project execution • Collaborate with cross-functional teams and stakeholders, including all engineering disciplines, project managers, Operations and procurement, to ensure seamless project integration and successful project delivery • Lead and manage the execution of Electrical Engineering scope of work at the selected engineering service provider in all phases (Pre-FEED, FEED and Detail Design) • Monitor and report actual progress and forecasting/check for discipline activities, including management of labor hours and delivered documents • Lead the design and selection of electrical equipment considering factors such as safety, reliability, maintainability, cost and schedule • Prepare and review engineering drawings, specifications and technical documents, ensuring compliance with industry standards, codes and regulations • Apply industry codes and standards relevant to the chemical industry, such as NFPA 70, NEC, IEEE, and other applicable codes, in the design and evaluation of electrical systems and equipment • Oversee the procurement of electrical equipment, ensuring adherence to project requirements and specifications • Conduct thorough reviews and quality control checks to ensure compliance with design specifications and project requirements • Utilize software tools and applications, such as SKM, Bluebeam, Navisworks, AVEVA Engineering or equivalent and other engineering design software, to support electrical engineering activities and enhance project efficiency Qualifications • Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering required; Advanced degree is a plus • 6+ years of experience in Electrical Engineering field. A focus on the chemical or petrochemical industry is preferred • Technical design knowledge about a broad range of equipment (motors, motor control centers, lighting, VFDs, UPSs, etc.) and electrical systems (wiring/cabling, grounding, breakers, power supplies, fuses, junction boxes, etc.) • Experience as a lead Electrical Engineer, including experience in large capital projects execution, is a plus • Strong leadership and interpersonal skills for implementation of cross-functional process improvements • Ability to mentor and develop lesser experienced team members • Proven experience in leading a team of engineers, with excellent leadership and communication skills • Familiarity with capital stage gate process and understanding of project execution • Excellent organizational skills and the ability to prioritize and manage multiple projects simultaneously • Knowledge of safety regulations and standards related to Electrical Engineering in the chemical industry • Professional Engineer (PE) license is a strong plus • Open to travel as needed Eastman will not accept applicants for this offered position who require visa sponsorship, including those whose status is F-1 visa OPT who subsequently would require ongoing visa sponsorship. This individual will provide technical support in the area of PC and PLC based controls and automation for improvement projects and production support.
