As Business Case Finance Manager, you will provide financial leadership to the core team for the quoting process of our future programs. This position is specifically for our growing General Motors and European customers accounts. It will serve not only the Automotive Wire Harness Product line but also the Adjacent Markets (Robotics, Energy and non-automotive markets), and the Cordset Business. You will guide the program team to quote accurately the new programs while highlighting risks and opportunities in a strategic way to further grow the account in a profitable way. This is a cross-functional role that will have an impact across all the functions while being the partner of choice for the sales director and his team. YOUR ROLE * Build clear and accurate financial business cases for new quotes (new programs and engineering changes), making sure that all main assumptions are validated and owned by each function in charge * Run sensitivity analysis for each business case to highlight risks and opportunities * Drive the core team to identify ways to mitigate the risks identified * Review and discuss the contractual points that could impact the financials with the departments in charge * Ensure the proper application of indexed commodities pricing and ensure accurate pricing at launch * Drive the core team to improve the profitability of new programs through the gate review process * Lead the post-audit process of each major program and present the convergence plans needed providing a clear view of current state versus target * Lead and coordinate the claim process during the program phase-ensure the exhaustiveness of all concepts to be recovered and validate the amounts being claimed. * Support the forecasting and budgeting process for new programs * Lead the definition of a standardized Business Case Methodology and tools for the entire Americas Region and for all customers * Lead and develop a high-performing team of analysts; promote a culture of analytical rigor and business partnership YOUR BACKGROUND Key skills and competencies for succeeding in this role are: * Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, Business, or related field; MBA or advanced degree strongly preferred * Ten or more years of experience in program controlling and commercial finance, ideally within automotive or industrial sectors * Experience working in a matrixed, multinational organization with exposure to business leaders * Expertise in Excel-based modeling, and solid working knowledge in SAP * Strong Executive presence and communication skills with the ability to translate complex data into actionable insights * Ability to speak both English and Spanish with fluency * Ability to travel globally as business requires * Must be legally able to work in the U.S. without requirement of any type of visa sponsorship or transfer, now, or at any time in the future WHY JOIN US? * You can grow at Aptiv. Working closely with corporate finance, track and evaluate the effectiveness of proposal pricing, identifying and analyzing variances in order to ensure profitability objectives are met. Support the implementation of a new corporate financial system. Accounting Assist with monthly close procedures. Prepare monthly revenue journal entries. Assist with timely invoicing for the region. Assist with timely accounts receivable collections for the region. Compile and coordinate monthly, financial reports, statements and special analyses. Financial Planning and Analysis Conduct monthly analysis of income statements vs. budget, providing associated recommendations and action plans to budget leaders in support of timely adjustments to operations and/or necessary course corrections. Work collaboratively with client teams to develop annual and 5 year revenue, NOC, and independence budgets which align with corporate objectives (VMS 521) Monitor and analyze VMS 521 metrics monthly, taking appropriate actions to maintain metrics at or better than the budgeted VMS 521 levels. Assist budget leaders in forecasting of revenues and expenses down to project, team, department, office, or regional profitability. Provide expert level support during yearly budgeting process consolidating and submitting office and regional data as required in support of company budget planning and forecasting processes. Supervisory Responsibilities This position may manage remote office finance staff and associated financial activities, as well as external accounting vendors in various assigned countries. Responsible for all aspects of supervision of selected staff, to include: recruiting and selecting, assigning and prioritizing work activities, performance management, compensation management, developing employee skills and abilities, providing career guidance, and supporting company policies and processes. EDUCATION and EXPERIENCE Bachelor's degree with a focus in accounting or finance required. MBA or other relevant graduate degrees preferred. 7 - 10 years' experience in accounting, finance, and/or audit experience.
