The Robotic Welder Operator works with little or no instruction in performing robotic welding of steel in various shapes, sizes, and thicknesses as needed for projects. Duties and Responsibilities: Programs, sets-up, and operates robotic welder. Builds or modifies tooling for product and new design. Complete fit-up of structure, pipe and accessories for vessels. Welds in multiple positions. Trains and mentor others. Identify various metals and alloys such as mild & high strength steel, aluminum, and stainless as well as identify structural shapes. Use measuring devices and gauges to determine thickness and size of metal. Use oxygen/acetylene torch for cutting metals. Use grinder and other hand or power tools required to grind, bevel, or fit metals together, and remove slag. Read and follow blueprints to determine structure or fit of parts that are being welded and are in compliance with the Method of Production Standard. Maintain work area and equipment in a clean orderly condition and follow prescribed safety procedures. May perform other duties as assigned. A Machine Operator I for Bastian Solutions will be responsible for operation of machinery used to aid in the production of parts for material handling equipment projects. The main emphasis for this position is machine operation of 3-4 of the following machines including, but not limited to laser, waterjet, press brake, CNC milling machine, CNC lathe, and turret punch.
