Responsibilities:
Assembles / disassembles, troubleshoots, repairs, and maintains tooling and dies through a variety of standard methodology
Performs complex machining to turn raw materials into finished dies and fixtures
Performs preventive maintenance to ensure dies are as production ready as possible
Maintains logs and appropriate records on die maintenance
Reads/studies specifications such as blueprints, sketches, models, and/or descriptions to determine materials and machines needed to fabricate parts
Participates in tool design and prototype production
Computes dimensions, plans layout, and determines methods for sequence of operations
Measures, marks, and scribes metal stock for machining
Verifies dimensions, alignments, and clearances
Identifies a reasonable amount of time to complete a job and communicates problems and estimated repair times
Utilizes and abides by ISO requirements
Makes recommendations to continuously improve tooling and fixtures

Minimum Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:

Heat-treating procedures
Able to make basic detail prints of die sections

Role Description:

Role Description: The Eberhard Manufacturing team is seeking a Maintenance Mechanic for our facility in Strongsville, OH. This is a full-time opportunity with the hours of 7:00am-3:30pm (1st shift). The Maintenance Mechanic is responsible for performing maintenance operations at Eberhard Manufacturing.
Responsibilities:
Trouble Shooting All Mechanical Problems
Repair of Machinery & Building
Preventive Maintenance
Responsible for All Building & Machine Repair
Tow Motor & Crane Operation
Use of All Maintenance Machinery
Essential Functions:
BUILDING MAINTENANCE:
Responsible for repairing and maintaining physical structures and utility systems of buildings - May include painting and performing structural repairs to masonry, woodwork and furnishings of buildings and maintaining and repairing building utility systems, such as electrical wiring and controls, heating and ventilating systems and water distributing and plumbing systems
Diagnoses for problems and makes necessary repairs
Tasks vary daily and are assigned by need and urgency of maintenance
MACHINE MAINTENANCE & REPAIR:
Repairs machinery and mechanical equipment, such as engines, motors, pneumatic tools, conveyor systems, and production machines and equipment, using hand tools, power tools, and precision-measuring and testing instruments
Dismantles devices to gain access to and remove defective parts, using hoists, cranes, hand tools, and power tools.
Inspects used parts to determine changes in dimensional requirements, using rules, calipers, micrometers and other measuring instruments.
Adjusts functional parts of devices and control instruments, using hand tools, levels and straightedges. Repairs or replaces defective parts, using hand tools and power tools.
TOW MOTOR, CRANE & LIFT OPERATION:
Operates tow motor and overhead crane to lift and move heavy parts
Operates and balances in lift to reach high areas
Supplemental Functions:
Building Maintenance to Include Painting, Plumbing, Welding Repairs & Fabrication
Checking Scales Daily
Train Workers on Safety, Tool Operation
Maintaining all Inspections required
Minimum Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
Ability to Trouble Shoot Mechanical Problems
Be Able to Make Repairs as Necessary
Ability to stay current in preventive maintenance
Parts purchasing experience
Preferred Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
Welding - Mig, Tig & Stick
Machine Operation
Tow Motor Weekly Inspections
Tow Motor Repairs
Machine Operation - Lathes, Mills & Presses
Minimum 5 years experience in electrical and mechanical maintenance
Familiar with OSHA regulations
2-3 years - Time management
Minimum 2 years of Trade School
